The Shop is there. I thought that was to be public November 1st ? It seems it is only an test.

It is no test.
As they start taking pre-orders for the DE player NOW which will become available in September, the shop was obviously never intended to be opened on 1st November....

What a stupid comment! Most miggy users also have a second system these days (a need to be industry standard at times)If you don`t have a PC or Linux I`m not suggeting that you should buy the player, so chill and watch out for them moths!

What a stupid comment?
My dear bozo, YOU were the one who told us all we shpuld buy the software.
I merely asked you why the hell I should buy something that is of no earthly use to me.
Seems YOU are the one making stupid comments - unless you routinely go around buying stuff for which you have zero ned and zero ability to use? You must be a marketeer's dream!!!

I fail to see how posting under an anonymous name gives you the right to use insulting language, but then thats always the way isn't it? I think you'll find that Ian (not myself) was merely encouraging fellow users to purchase the software and support Amiga. Many people DO have the appropriate systems to run the DE player, and surely the comment was referring to them?
If you are not able to run the software, then don't buy it, but there is absolutely no need to insult somebody simply for suggesting that many people do have Windows and Linux systems and that they should purchase the software.

I like my Amiga PCs (Have 4 of them), IBM Clone PC (Using dozeME) which I don't really like but parts are cheap. I'm looking forward to DE!!! Oh, incase anyone is bothered by "Amiga PC" just remember it's "Personal Computer" that M$ has tried to make PC mean "Micro$oft Windows".

Thanks Ian for your support. Some people just break out in sweat and start saying funning things with bad spelling when it comes to parting with cash (which there parents probably gave them anyway for washing the car!). If you have a PC or Linux get it, if you don’t have one, then obviously I’m not suggesting you should buy it! Doh!

In reply to Comment 10 (Ian):
So, give me one good reason why a Windows-owning Amiga user should rush out and buy a piece of software which nobody has seen and for which there is yet to be proven a use?
Remember, AInc are fond of telling us they are not a charity (which is true) - the reverse is ALSO true! I am not a charity, and I am not going to waste money buying stuff from them unless I *NEED*it.
BTW, people in glass houses and all that... you called me stupid, and then get all whiney and upset when I bounce stupid back to you. What a surprise :-(

In reply to Comment 11 (Keith_Blakemore-Noble):
Because it is only $15 and it will allow you to run DE software on your pc/linux. What is the problem with that? If you have not interested in the DE or dont have a machine able to run then forget it. Go on, instead of copying it or complaining about it, I dare you to buy it. Go on, I dare ya. Break a habit of a moaning lifetime.

In reply to Comment 12 (Ian):
But WHY should I waste $15 on something that is of no use to me?
THAT is my question. I am questioning the mentality that seems to be developing that just because it is a product by AInc, we *MUST* all rush out and buy it sans question.
Sorry, but I've been down that road once too often.
Let's see. I bought OS3.1 (yes, that was a good investment).
I then bought OS3.5 even though it offered me nothing I didn't already have, I bought it to "show support" for "the cause".
Then came OS3.9 offering absolutely nothing to me that I didn't already have, but again, to "show support" I bought it.
I bought AmigaDE SDK for Doze as soon as that came out too, and had a good look at it, even ported a few bits and pieces (not that any of those will be of use to AmigaDE's current direction, namely PDAs, but at the time it was launched DE was replacing AmigaOS in the desktop too).
Neck, I even bought a can of AmiCola! (Still got it, unopened, sitting on the shelf.)
I've done my share of throwing money at AInc to "show support" and quite frankly, enough is enough.
Sure, if and when they release a product which is of use to me, I shall buy it. However, no more "charity buying" from them for me I'm afraid.
Is that complaining? To say I won't just mindlessly follow instructions to buy something purely because AInc release it? You may wish to call it complaining, I prefer to refer to it as thinking for myself and making my own judgement on what to spend my own money upon.
Whatever.
However, please do me a favour - don't TELL me to buy something just because it is released by AInc - I will make up my own mind, thank you very much.

In reply to Comment 13 (Keith_Blakemore-Noble):
I did not say to just buy it because Amiga Inc have made it. I said that if you had an interest in DE and had a machine able to run it, that at $15 it was a bargain. Perhaps you should calm down a bit before you write any more rubbish.

Ian, your original comment, in its entirity, read -
"Just ordered my copy of Amiga DE Player. Come on you lot, its only $15. A Bargain!"
Just have a look back in this very discussion - it's up there in black &
white.
Now, correct me if I am wrong, but your comment did not say "if you had an
interest in DE and had a machine able to run it, that at $15 it was a
bargain", merely "Just ordered my copy of Amiga DE Player. Come on you lot, its only $15. A Bargain!"
Perhaps you ought to reread what you write before accusing others of writing
"rubbish" for responding to what you WROTE rather than what you think you
may have meant to have written...

Interesting to note that you have completly changed your original statement
(which was, I remind you once again as you seem to have forgotten it -
"Just ordered my copy of Amiga DE Player. Come on you lot, its only $15. A
Bargain!").
One can only hope that in the future you are perhaps a tad more careful with
your blase statements in order to avoid such unnecessary exchanges...

I suppose whenever you see an advert on TV saying "buy this product" you send a letter of complaint saying "why should i buy this because i dont need it?!".
All I was griping about is that u deliberately withheld your name BECAUSE u were insulting somebody.

In reply to Comment 20 (Ian):
Nah, I don't have a problem with adverts per se.
Just a problem when people write on an AMIGA news site *telling* us to buy Windows and/or Linux software because it is "only $15" with the implied "otherwise you are a cheapskate who doesn't care about AInc" message that went along with it.
Do have fun playing Tetris, though, I hope nothing I have said spois your fun there.
I'll just reserve my judgement and money until I see something worth buying, if it's all the same to you.
Bye.

Such a witty comeback - how can I possibly debate with someone who has your level of skills, eh?
I guess that's me told - does this mean I have to rush out and buy the DE player or else forever be taunted by your razor wit?
Somehow I think I'll cope.
Mind you, I've noticed you seem to have a deep-seated need to have The Last Word, so far be it from me to deny you of it - feel free to post whatever you like, safe in teh knowledge I'll not reply.
Hopefully this will go some way to making you feel slightly better while you wait for TetrisDE-2 to arrive.

What about Sun's StarOffice suite - better than M$ office anything and it is free! It would be very nice if it was ported to the Amiga!
