Many complaints were voiced and people are thinking that ANN's quality is degrading because of the display of unmoderated postings on the main page. And this is certainly not what I intended. Posting on the main page has not been opened up to allow people to insult, or be troublemakers. "Just because you can, does not mean you should." I'd like to ask posters to refrain from posting jokes, sarcastic remarks, or unfounded/unproven criticisms. When posting, I'd prefer people to apply common sense rather than limit them with explicit restrictions. Thank you for your cooperation.

Well said Christian. Now if all users of the site could display the same high level of maturity, reason and common sense please!

I agree with Christian, I think peer pressure is the best plan.

Ohhh I've got one.
Microsoft is going to have massive fines, the moneys going to
compensate companies who lost out to them.
Amiga as heirs to Commodore are to be awarded $1bn
How's that for "news" :)

I have and will continue to come to ann for news, however, I like and have come to appreciate the quality of the news that is poasted on amiga.org. I also support and love the regisrtation system to even make a post. While many of you do not agree whith me, it raises the bar to a higher level of professianalism and makes for solid reading and keeps the imature Amiga evil dooers of their soap box!!

But there are more interesting news on ANN than on Amiga.org anyway :)

Rumour has it the unelected, unaccountable, beaurocratic, controlling and generally unpleasant entity known as the EU is planning to fine MS for a lot of money. http://www.theregister.co.uk/content/4/22149.html

I mentioned this before in a thread which got deleted, but I'll repeat it :)
Wouldn't it be handy to display the IP of users who post unmoderated news items? It already happens on reactions, so why not on posting articles themselves?
Just my $0.02.
Keep up the good work Christian!

I just wanted to say thanks. I got what I wanted; the removal of false rumours on the main page. Though I must admit, I did have fun while making my point. ;-)
Cheers! :-)

Yes, that's what makes a good fake story :)
An element of credibility, and maybe wish fulfilment, people think
justice should put things right.
Now if we were not joking, and reduced the sum to something
