Amiga.org are reporting how an Elbox representative said about the SharkPPC at the show that "the board was a working version, and that they were only waiting for Amiga OS 4 to start production, final tests and finally two weeks after the beginning of production the shipment of the boards." In related news, Hyperion said that the release of OS 4 is not dependant on the release of the AmigaOne.

Sure SharkPPC is working. That's why they display it in a glassbox.

what else could they do?, stuff it into a Mediator system without an OS that knows about it?

Why not? With whatever tool(s) they've used to confirm it's working.
That would at least prove that it's working, and if they can't prove it, they're probably lying.

The SHARKPPC-board was working!!@@???
How can one test its ability while the hardware is not
available. NOT to speak of the failing OS4.0.
On what hardware is the SharkPPC tetsted??? and with what
OS??

In reply to Comment 3 (Mark Olsen):
I could think many reasons why they would choose not to try to prove to people it was working when it could not, for reasons beyond their control, run the OS it is supposed to run - and lying is only one of those.
Of course they can not prove that it works with the OS it is designed to work with, but that should go without saying since it is not finished yet, and they did state they would continue testing once they get the OS. I guess what they were saying is that as far as they are concerned ATM, the electronics work (as opposed to an alpha board that was manufactured but is still missing some crucial work or doesn't function as specced).
I would think that more probable reasons for not trying to substantiate this claim at this time would be simple practical matters (e.g. the difficulty of proving electronics work in a show environment, or not even thinking about such of possibility, etc.), not lying.
Although ELBOX have participated in some ugly wars of words and some of their licensing issues have been somewhat dubious, they still have a pretty good track-record of shipping the stuff they announce. I personally have no reason not to give them the benefit of the doubt on this one.
They say it is working. Okay. In anycase, that still does not mean it runs AmigaOS 4.0 when the OS is finished so that statement is still prettymuch meaningless (but promising) anyway. It could still take some time after OS 4.0 is released to get everything going.

Duh - the "hardware" is available... it's called an Amiga with a Mediator (Available at all good Amiga retailers).
>> NOT to speak of the failing OS4.0.
I'll make this simple so that even you can understand it: You don't need to put an engine in a car in order for the engine to work.
>>On what hardware is the SharkPPC tetsted??? and with what
OS??
The SharkPPC will have been tested with TEST programs in order to ensure that the hardware does exactly what's it's supposed to. If you read what Elbox have to say, they now have to wait for OS4.0 in order to confirm that there are no glitches, fix any glitches found (if any), make any final adjustments to the design and then start the production run.
Which part of this are you having trouble understanding???

Do you think if they took it out of the glass case, connected some electronics test tools to it and showed that people would stop saying they're lying. No, you'd all probably go on about how the test tools were actually signal generators or something.
I'm happy enough with Elbox saying it works - their track record for producing working hardware is quite good.

Intresting comment from Markus Nerding(H&P) regarding SharkPPC and
OS4:
"AFAIK Elbox never tried to get in touch with us. Maybe they are in
contact with Amiga Inc, but I doubt that. It is quite strange that Elbox
can not show a board that is running in an Amiga system."

I'm still waiting for the day when stupid people will stop making stupid comments which intent is just to damage the community even further.

Naa, Elbox just have a tendency towards twisting the truth a bit.
That's why I don't trust that it works before I see it.

And maybe the backstabbing Bplan/MorphOS crew should simply get on with marketing their producting instead of engaging in a (not very) covert war to undermine and destroy Amiga Inc and OS4.x.
What do you think? Infact, don't bother replying - we all know what you think!

H&P says they were "stuck" with OS4 because of the lack of AmigaOne...
Now Hyperion says OS4 is not dependant on the release of the HW...
Go figure...
btw. I hope those Titan guys are open towards the official AmigaOS, if I read in between the lines of their IRC session, it does not look too promising...

I am strongly suggesting that your undermining of the Shark is in direct support of the gestalt entity which trys to operate under the split personality of "MorphOS" and "bPlan".

So then nobody is allowed to post the IRC log where you can find these
statements. You are only allowed to post good news (SharkPPC ready
waiting for OS4) but if you quote H&P regarding OS4 and SharkPPC then
you're the bad guy?

Basically.... YES :)
Anyway, I've just read a new report from the show that quotes Hyperion as saying that they have been talking to Bplan and Elbox and that versions of OS4.0 will be released for the Shark and Bplan board.
Now sing teh following lyrics in a "Munchkin" voice:
"Hey ho, the witch is dead... which old witch? MorphOS!!!"

they did to every other developer. BTW: If you're lucky you can
