Wasn't it illegal ? Some stolen code from Fusion...

In reply to Comment 1 (Elwood):
You are thinking of Shape Shifter, which I don't know if that was true or not.
This is from the same guy, but this is a ground up new emulator. IMO this emulator seems to beat Fusion hands down.

Who cares who may have stolen who's code? Let them deal with that. I just want to know about updates to BOTH. :)

In reply to Comment 1 (Elwood):
Exactly, Jim Drew claimed (!) that code was stolen, but never offered any proof AFAIR. You could argue that he didn't like the competition his Emplant board got, which a lot of people saw as a big dongle after ShapeShifter appeared, which even worked better in some circumstances than his hardware/software combo.
Also, just as with Fusion PPC, he seems to never have offered fully working versions; but that's just hearsay from my side, so take it all with a grain of salt. I have used ShapeShifter quite successfully in its time, thank you very much. And unless there is PROOF that Christian Bauer reverse-engineered someone else's work, I don't think it's true.

True. On my computer I never was able to get it to recognise my CD drive.
It sleeps in peace in a drawer of my office unused. How sad !

Yes, very sad indeed. iFusion, or something equivalent is the kinda software that attracts some users, let alone the fact that people that bought it didn't saw any promised updates.

Is this a PowerMac emulator? If not, what's the point of
running 68k mac software? Everything new is PPC now.

In reply to Comment 7 (Jaeson Koszarsky):
Basilisk is a 68K Mac emulator so no it doesnt run 'new' Mac software which is PPC only. However you can run up to MacOS 8.1 which means you can run older versions of Netscape and such. Considering how bad Amiga browsers are using Netscape is VERY usefull. Also since most people using Basillisk have an 060 (66mhz here) it is the fastest 68k mac that was never made(Mac stopped at 040). There is also alot of older games that never had a AMiga version like Duke Nukem 3D.
BTW I never got Fusion to run stable, OTOH I got Basillisk running with no fuss.

In reply to Comment 8 (redrumloa):
Fusion hasn't given me any problems. I migrated to it from
shapeshifter when ss was working anymore and no longer being
developed. I've been satisified with Fusion for 68k. I have
IFusion but still not had time to install it. Unfortunately,
it sounds like it has more problems.
What's the latest version of browsers that are 68k? V3.x?
The PPC versions are 6.x now.
A good PowerMac emulator would be more appealing at this point.
A PPC-PC emulator would be interesting too. I've run win95
under PC-Task but it is so slow, even on a 72MHz 060. IE5.5
is the last version that will run under win95, btw.

In reply to Comment 9 (Jaeson Koszarsky):
The last 68K Netscape I think was 4.01. As for iFusion, the last I hear was that
there was no working TCPIP, so no internet.
