"This is the fourth year that Amiga Flame gives Amiga Gamers the opportunity to vote for the Best Game of 2001. This year has been a slow year in terms of game releases, in particular due to the transition currently underway as developers work on the next generation of Amiga games. However, some impressive games were released this year and it is time for Amiga gamers to select the Best." For the first time, you can also vote for the best AmigaDE game of the year.

My vote for the best AmigaDe game is Solitaire! This is the foundation on which Amiga Int. is going to make their triumphant return, by seizing the Solitaire market that Microsoft has leveraged into their own through their monopolistic practices of bundling Solitaire with their OS! But we'll show them all, by producing high quality versions of games like PacMan, Boulder Dash, etc... WE'LL SHOW THEM!
MY HOOVES! LISTEN TO MY HOOVES! THEY GO CLIPPITY CLOP, CLIPPITY CLOP! MY HOOVES!

Your humor is noted, but I think you miss the point of DE. Which is not to impress those of us who have no need for a PDA. In that world, the DE games are above average, but we're not talking about PS2 games here.
Even though I don't see myself buying a Sharp PDA--I can recognize the significance of this technology for those that do.

In reply to Comment 2 (NihilVor):
Obviously the best game on AmigaDE will be either Mario 64 or Wipeout. The state of the art in 2000 means it's still impossible for a cheap handheld like the GameBoy Advance to play these games while also emulating an Amiga, so if Amiga Inc can get these releases out by 2000 or 2001 I think they could make $100. That's enough to take the employees out for Pizza -- a pretty amazing feat for a long dead platform.
Of course if they wait until 2002 when handheld devices will be powerful enough to run SDL games on Linux then they're screwed, manufacturers have 50--100 games available for no money, just stick the useless source in the "driver" CD and put the licensing in the back of the unread User Manual.
Oh. Too late. I hope Eyetech and Hyperion don't get too badly burnt when their worst case scenario happens (Amiga Inc going under in a blaze of litigation)

Best Amiga game: Payback
Hyperion produced some quality games, but payback is original, and not just a port (i know its a clone of GTA).
Best DE game: How should i know?, but by the looks of it. Proberly Planet Zed
