The next release of Moovid will have support for Div3/DIVX-4/DIVX-5/OpenDivx/MPEG4 codecs. 68k versions only at the moment though...Spotted this on Amiga-News.de

Great news for us Amithlon users, as the Softcinema author doesn't want to release the 68k version!

In reply to Comment 1 (darklite):
Elf (frogger author) has taken over softcinema, maybe he'll do a 68k version
as there is 68k of frogger...but is it that easy to do a 68k version,
when everything is written for ppc ? Even compiling wos and pup isnt that easy..(according to SC author earlyer) though there is both wos/pup now..

x86 decoders for Amithlon would suerely be a better option than emulated 68k ones?

or boot into linux/windows and use the players there, they have far more
features than any amiga player atm. latest mediaplayer i belive even reports
all movies you play to a server so they see what you like, and who knows
what they do with that info :) maybe you might get mails about offers on
cheap dvd's that matches your category in the collected info :) technology these
days *sigh* :)

In reply to Comment 6 (Björn Hagström):
Yes, of course x86 decoders would be the best thing.
But considering that Action is written entirely
in m68k assembler I would think that it'd be
really hard and time-consuming to rewrite them
to x86 code. So most likely this will not happen.
How about if one took some Linux movie player
drivers and converted them into x86? Wouldn't
that be simpler... I dunno, so I'll leave it
at this. :)

In reply to Comment 8 (Z):
So long as it's fast enough under emulation to play the movie at full
speed (fps as given in the file), that's fast enough.
Generally it seems to be. I see the image being refreshed on 640x480
AVIs, but I suspect that is mainly a P96 problem.
The main thing lacking from Moovid seems to be an ASL screen requester
- you are expected to type in Mode IDs. And an ARexx port with a few
commands (play, stop, load, etc) would help.
The price is low.

Does this MooVid update cost, or is it free to OS3.9 users?
