NARR wrote: On the KDH-Datentechnik website there's an advert for a new forthcoming game for the AmigaOS, called 'Software Tycoon', which will be released by epic-interactive. We contacted Mr. Horbach of KDH-Datentechnik to find out more about this simulation-game. At the GFX-BASE you can read our short interview in English aswell as in German.

Good job... The screenshots are impressive; you've done a good job with the characters and the store designs.

I thought the screen shots were very funny and quite well done.
It looks like it will be an interesting and novel game.

yuk! I thought the screenshots were kinda amateurish looking (NOT claiming they were created by an amateur though) and too colourful making the screenshots look confusing and messy. Altough graphics are never the main issue in these type of games, but what concerns me was the pretty low press rating the game had got. Usually gamedesigners put up the best rating their game has got onto their webpage to promote their game, so this game has probably something like 50-60% rating when all press ratings are summed up which is pretty low.
I fear this just another cheapie conversion for amiga, that will be sold with double the price it's really worth.
However as I know nothing about this game I cannot claim I know things forsure.

As i've no doubt said in the past, it is impossible for us to licence big expensive titles solely for the Amiga. We would be out of business overnight from the losses we'd make.
We think it is better to at least port viable titles to the Amiga rather than do nothing at all, since as the alternative would be we put all of our resources solely into Mac ports where a big expensive licence would pay off.
As for it being resold at more than it's worth, I take it you mean more than the PC price. Again, if we sold at the end-of-product-cycle PC price we would be out of business overnight, so we have no alternative but to sell the product at the as-new price.
We hope that there is some enjoyable elements of the game that the Amiga game player will enjoy and that our hard work will pay off. Heres hoping.
