Worlds 1st PowerPPC Motherboard Webcam picture using Poseidon's USB Stack

This is the worlds first webcam snapshot using a USB webcam running on a PEGASOS G3/G4 motherboard using the Poseidon USB stack fully under MorphOS.

Hardware: A Aiptek Pencam Trio Webcamera pluged directly into the PEGASOS motherboard's built in USB ports. Software: Poseidon USB stack (PPC version of the Pencam Driver) and Pencamtool. Click on the thumbnail for bigger view.

New Webcam support added & "Name That GFX Card" competition

Team VFD has added support to the Poseidon USB stack (tested with the VFD UHCI driver & G-Rex) for the Fujifilm ultra-compact iX-1 digital (web) camera.

Epson Stylus Photo 870 USB printer working!

Using the newly updated printer class with VFD's UHCI driver, printing to Epson Stylus USB printers
can now be done with the Poseidon USB stack (tested with G-Rex & Magic Control Technology CHC2U along with Turboprint & Poseidon's USB Parallel driver).

..better looking webcam pictures taken with Pencamtool -> Poseidon -> UHCI driver -> G-Rex -> VIA 83572 UHCI PCI USB card -> Aiptek Pencam Trio Webcamera.

"Worlds 1st PowerPPC Motherboard Webcam picture using Poseidon's USB Stack"
First all you think , first web cam picture taken with a PPC mobo , then you read it again and all it really is , is that a picture has been taken using a ppc version of the stack on a peagasos which isn`t so impressive as i bet people have taken pictures using PPClinuxed macs.
A better title would have been "first picture taken using Peagasos and PPC usb stack"

In reply to Comment 1 (cOrpse):
What they mean is about USB Webcam on an Amiga PPC...
Or better to say they use an Amiga stack "Poseidon" running on a Amiga compatibile OS, *Morphos*, on a PPC machine, *Pegasos*, built to be an Amiga compatibile system....
But it is not your fault...
They can wrote it in a way better clear...
Maybe in the future...
And, by the way, you can not only made use of Webcam on PPC Linux... ... but a lot of Macs with PPC and USb ports are capable to do that...
Bye,
Raffaele

Now my two cents :-)
So it's compatible with AmigaOS4 then? No? Maybe you should write:
" Amiga stack Poseidon running on a to some extend Amiga compatible OS, *MorphOS*, on a PPC machine, *pegasos*, build to be new PPC platform with some amiga compatibility. "

Actually what they've written is quite clear. I just had to read it, though. They wrote the picture was taken on a Pegasos running MorphOS. No mention of it being Amiga-compatible, and no need, we already know. I really can't get your point. The news is that the MorpOS USB stack is in a fully working stge, and it can be used on a Pegasos. Full stop.
Kind regards,
Andrea

Pleeeaaase give me a break....is this news, worth mentioning?

And which is your actual point here? Minus bashing anything developed
by anyone near the MOS team.
And you know, if some nice guys that developed CGX didn't exist,
we would have no RTG right now... (The original picasso software
was done by the CGX guys...). And no, EGS does NOT count as RTG software,
you could only run normal AmigaOS software like you do with the chipset
+ RTG software made for their own GUI system. You couldn't make true
