The xsurfadsl.device for the networking card X-Surf has been updated. More than one DSL-modem is supported now, a bug that led to a crash when hanging up has been removed, and the debug-output of the appp.device for Genesis users has been removed, so the full performance is also reached on systems without a graphics board.

New DSL drivers for X-Surf : Comment 1 of 4 | ANN.lu |
Posted by kevin orme on 01-May-2002 13:37 GMT | i'm a bit confused. is this supposed to *replace* x-surf.device in devs/networks, or be an alternative? because when i tried to use it in miami with my ethernet/DSL setup on an A3000 that has an x-surf, miami said it can't query the SANA-II device, which leads me to believe that either i have an older x-surf that doesn't support this driver, or i've left something out. has anyone else tried this yet?

Posted by Jens Schönfeld on 01-May-2002 16:53 GMT | In reply to Comment 1 (kevin orme): If you would have read the docs, you'd know that csurfadsl.device is a serial.device compatible thing. It behaves like a Hayes-compatible modem. It will open the x-surf.device in the background by itself. Just configure Miami to make a modem dialup-connection through xsurfadsl.device as a replacement for serial.device.
