Rebol View is impressive on Amithlon, IMO more so than AmigaDE on a
PC. On 68k, it`s too slow.
Fire up View and chack out Chypre`s demos.

Because you wont catch me stuffing the ballot boxes for anything. ;)
Rebol/View is OK and I quite enjoy using it but I struggle to see the niche that it is trying to fill.

Hmm, a PPC native, OS4 version of REBOL/View is about the single thing that would make my miggy useful to me again. RT gets my vote, hands down.

Because they hardly can be considered as revolutionary to the way we use and will use the Internet?

Don- Where can "Chypre's demos" be found? Ironically, Googling for "chypre rebol" sans-quotes doesn't tug anything up.
Also, can anyone name anyone who takes the Webbys seriously?

Rebol works really well.....easy....for creating spam generators.
Sorta like the Video Toaster having a large user base in p0rn that is not talked about.
And to think if you want to use it as glue for system applications (i.e. arexx) you can cough up what, $300 for rebol command?

In reply to Comment 11 (3seas):
No Tim, its just some 49USD pro /Pro version. We are still pushing RT to free library and shell components though. They know they have to go that way imo, it's just all about timings ...
I can't agree with such simple marking of Rebol to spam generators. Why are you confusing ppl here? Web related job automation would be better description, don't you think? :-)
And after all - it was REBOL IOS product, which was nominated. It is very nice product, built upon Rebol technology. It can be seen as slight competition to Lotus Notes or maybe better to Groove. To be exact, something as Groove is really not a competition to IOS, as I can see IOS superior to it in many respects.
And to be honest, I also think Rebol technology is better than what AmigaDE claims to be, but is not (yet). We don't need ACM in VP or something like that, as in Rebol, everything can be everything. AmigaDE however, will be much stronger/faster in multimedia, and both comapnies have slightly different focus ... but one day - who knows?
As for Webby awards itself - it is clear that Google will win people's voice in Tech achievement category. I have not posted the news because I wanted amigans to vote, but because I just thought some of us are still interested in knowing, what old amiga legends are up to ...
Cheers,

In reply to Comment 10 (Joe "Floid" Kanowitz):
Sorry, it's Cyphre. I remembered it wrong.
Start up Rebol View (preferaby on Amithlon rather than a 68k Amiga),
go to Rebol.com then to Sites.
Some of them have nothing, but there are some good demos scattered
around.
Beware of SWIZ on the Cyphre site - it looks great but I had to reboot
to get out of it.

I would like to see Rebol support OS v3.9. It looked great on 3.1 but won't run after my upgrade to 3.9! I emailed them about this but they weren't real interested in supporting it.

Yet Don claims it runs under Amithlon? That's 3.9. Are you sure it's Rebol and not something else that is causing it?
