Maybe ClickBoom didn't get the license because Cinemaware want to make the Amiga version themself ;o)
I hope that they are going to release a new version of Wings for AmigaOS 4.0 :o)
PS: You can download some of the games (Amiga-version) for free at the Cinemaware homepage, so the use the license themself ;o)
The best wishes for the future of the Amiga

No matter for Amiga or not.. I want to play Wings again ... one of my all time favourites. One of those almost perfect games Cinemaware was known for at their time of glory.

Why even write this here as it has nothing to do with Amiga anymore? i meen its not like there aint a lot of other old amiga titles that there has been made pc og console versions from.

I reckon! Who gives a toss?
If it isn't available for the Amiga, why report it?

I guess it can considered "news" to some that ClickBOOM has put all Amiga development on ice, that is, if you can consider status quo news...

On second thought it rather looks like they've run out of Amiga programmers. Z is STILL not out and judging by their S-Files they've been looking for a programmer for quite some time now. Ah well, effectively their Amiga development seems to have grinded to a halt.
On a side note, I'd still like to know the _facts_ about the porting of Myst...

Alas, ClickBOOM is just contract workers so it's all up to Cinemaware to decid what platform a game should run on. Possibly, ClickBOOM could obtain a license to port it to the miggy/DE/AA, but then they'd need a) a demand for it and b) Amiga programmers (which they seem to have run out of).

This stays up and it a pc thing but mine doesnt . So i put it in here
This will be up again and again along with more specs . For this has everything
to do with Amiga.
the chipset
http://www.mai.com/product/ArticiaS.html
The chipset (wich was meant for routers and low power development systems) is a total piece of junk it's got roughtly 150mb of bandwidth compare that the I845 for P4 (mac of about 2.5 GBytes) bandwidth and its looks pretty sad.....my point you ask?....why upgrade? the things pathetic ....a classic amiga with a PPC card in a mirage tower will be much better...it will run all the PPC apps just fine and wont compromise the toaster and other hardware....
if we did a benchmark quite litterly in system bandwidth that guy tondotechs bullsh*t benchmark would be right...and thats sad....sad that a pentium pro chipset could beat it.
the router
Dam piece of $#@!

If they had the license for the Amiga, they could also make the game for Amiga-Anywhere, and also the other way around!
Try to read this: [ http://www.hyperion-entertainment.com/_amiga/index.html ]
"Will Hyperion support alternative operating systems like MorphOS and AROS which target the Amiga user-base?
The answer is simple: no. Leaving aside considerations such as IP and copyright infringement and further market fragmentation which would lead to sharply reduced sales in the Amiga market and the fact that we would need to rebuild our code-base, we want to make it clear our licenses are tied to a specific operating system, not to a specific hardware platform. If it were otherwise, we would just obtain a license for PPC and we could port for any OS running on PPC including MacOS, AmigaOS, Linux PPC, Beos etc. In reality our license agreements limit the scope of our rights to AmigaOS meaning ports for AROS and MorphOS are LEGALLY IMPOSSIBLE and would require prior re-negotiation of our license agreements. We would think it highly doubtful that large entertainment software companies would even consider this without very substantial upfront royalty payments which would be impossible to recuperate due to low sales. Obviously, the new Amiga OS based on Elate IS covered by our existing license agreements as it is an OS developed and marketed by the Amiga Inc. We therefore can and will support Amiga DE and OS 5."

It's not difficult to find an Amiga programmer, it's difficult for them to pay a programmer the same fee as if it works on another platform/project. I'd love for instance to works on Amiga, but unfortunately to pay the rent I've to do other (realtime application programming on vxWorks, LinuxRT and other systems), still better than fight with DirectX and similar shits :)
The fact is that the amiga market is not profitable :( and the sad thing is that I don't see at the moment HOW AmigaOne/OS4 or PegasOS/MOS market may be better than the actual Amiga market! I hope that Amiga Inc, Eyetech, BPlan... will find marketing strategies to move people from win/mac/linux to their platform, but I see it as a very difficult task....

Friden Everybody that agrees with me is automatically me. Well wake up .
Dragon1971 lives in Canada and basic who also agree with him knows of him who also agrees with me. obviosuly your one of the few that dont agree with having facts put up. Im not going to sit here and argue with something as this. The facts where put up as I heard and so did everyone else for the truth. Remeber there are 100 thousands of shawns and a lot are on yahoo. I am not the only Shawn on the planet and dont use that stuid ip adress that has been copied over and over again which has never been mine- . This was basics. There I gave you facts, if you dont belive it or if somebody else doesnt , then you guys need a history in life, besides your really dont know who I am so who gives a fly rats ass.
The point is we need a better system. After all is said in done I hope we can agree on this one thing, Life is to short to argue with something as meaningles as this.

And "he" just happens to have the same IP number (12.215.219.212) as you.
The fact is, NOBODY agrees with you, so you have to keep making up these
stupid multiple personalities to make it look otherwise. Every once in
a while you change your ISP in the hopes of fooling people. But it never
works. Hint: try using different word choices next time instead of
repeating the exact same things over and over.
Anyway, you are lying about the ArticiaS. Either that or you just don't
understand it. The more you try to degrade the AmigaOne, the stupider you
look and the more people laugh at you.

"having facts put up"
What facts? There's a cluelass lamer tinking that "a classic amiga with a PPC card in a mirage tower will be much better" than a new, 600 MHz G3-based machine using if not modern, at least _more_ modern technology than the poorly designed P5/DCE cards. Thinking about the SharkPPC? Given the choice between having my CPU on a PCI-card and put it on a PCI expansion board residing on the all too old and slow ZII/ZIII bus expansion of an computer designed 10+ years ago, and a tabula rasa I'd take the latter any day.
"dont use that stuid ip adress that has been copied over and over again which has never been mine"
Hands up everyone that believes that somone goes to great lengths to spoof as Shawn or to obtain the exact same IP/IPs over and over again and post comments with the same quality, grammar and sense (basically none, none, and none).
"The point is we need a better system. After all is said in done I hope we can agree on this one thing, Life is to short to argue with something as meaningles as this."
Agreed, but a better system is not going jump out of anyone's ass for calling the current attempts "a total piece of junk", trolling that "a classic amiga...will be much better", and overall summing up his (childish) so called arguments with "Dam piece of $#@!". Yeah, it and that guy are really a waste of time and energy.
Besides Shawn, if you haven't got enough money to buy an A1, Pegasos or a SjharkPPC just say so in stead of trolling and spoofing as "other" Amiga users.
And oh, there's no chance in hell that you're born 1971 and no-one is going to believe it. 1991 seems more accurate to be honest.

Everyone is yelling about the PC/Mac-only games in that article. But is everyone so tunnel-visioned that they missed the announcement of "666" for PPC Amiga? OK, it's early development, but this could be one of the first big games for OS4. The announcement was not that CB had dropped the Amiga.

Nope, but since there's next to no information on 666 there's little point in discussing it. Next S-File might clarify the situation or it might not. Qui vivra vera.

when the AmigaONE is in the hands of real coders and developers
we'll find out the truth very quickly.
..and as for 150mb/s - well, even if thats true, its gonna knock
the crap out of my BlizzardPPC which struggles with 28mb/s !!! ;-)
