Scan like the props! IOSPIRIT has advanced its product palette and you can now order professional calibration targets at a very low and attractive price that give you best scanning results when used together with ICS and fxSCAN 4.0. And its easy to use, too! Just scan the target with your scanner and let ICS create a profile out of the result. From now on, you can automatically reach best and optimized results by selecting the ICS-filter in fxSCAN! The results are very close to the original template and mostly can´t even be distinguished from it!

- Very attractive price but top quality!
- Meets the IT 8.7/2 and ISO 12641 standard requirements.
- High color volume.
- Printed on high-quality Kodak(R) Professional paper.
- Meets the error tolerances required by the standard. Addmissible tolerance is 5 dE for reference files and 2 dE from CIE Lab for single measured targets. This target reaches an average of 0,3 dE in production!!
- additional reference files for scanners with light picture background. The standard only requires reference files for black background.
- also recommended for owners of older targets that may contain color errors after years!

More infos at IOSPIRIT.

Let's hope that new Amigas will come and to have such software for them.

I hope so to. Since a hand full of Amiga users do have PPC Accelerators and Amiga OS4.0 is also soon to be available for both PPC equip Amiga's and the Amigeone. I don't see why not. I think we really need to put the 68k Amiga's behind us and move on to PPC Amiga's but without Amiga OS4.0 were stuck dealing with the very slow 680x0 Processor and the programs that run on them.

In reply to Comment 1 (Dagon):
I can't see why fxSCAN shouldn't work on MorphOS and AmigaOS 4.0 (I already ran it on MorphOS and it works fine there). If any changes to my sourcecode are required to make it work on the final versions of MorphOS or AmigaOS 4.0, rest assured I'll make them and provide a free patch. In case someone is interested in that info, too: it also runs fine on Amithlon with a SCSI-scanner attached.
However, the AMIGA-market has to live *now* from what is bought. If nobody supports the AMIGA market *now* by buying existing products, don't expect the market or any software-developer to exist anymore *tomorrow*. We all have invoices to pay.

Just a (silly?) question... Are there any parallel port scanner drivers for the amiga? The only ones I see are SCSI. Maybe there is a reason for this?
Thanks in advance,
Dave.

AFAIK Wolf Faust's software works on Amigas now, so it should work
fine on AmigaOS 4. He also sells colour test targets.

Wolf is the author of the Studio printing software for Amiga and a
universal image importer for Pagestream.

I've been using parallel Epson scanners on Amiga for years. You need a
custom cable, but the connections in this are well known.
I'm now using the same scanner with SCSI in Amithlon, and it works
equally well - but with much more RAM it can scan in higher
resolution.

Yeah .. I run a GT5000 on parallel ( your right about the lead as well) I bought mine from Power a LONG time ago (cost £250 then) and it came with Powerscan software which was ok but not as good as ImageFX's built in scanner drivers.

Could you post a link to wiring information about the custom cable, please?

Looks like ANN has swallowed all the spaces. It was laid out nicely in

ANN could let you choose to wrap your post in <PRE>
But then ANN's posting mechanism is fairly primitive, I guess if you wanted to add features you'd have done that a long time ago.
(Just in case, ideas: Duplicate supression, preview mode, link checking)

Great, I really need a calibration sheet for my Scanjet, it can create awfully dreary results if you're not wary. Oh, if only some Amiga graphics package (preferably ArtEffect) could have a feature like »Levels» in Photoshop! It's immeasurable useful when you're scanning. Thankfully, at least FXScan has something like it, so you can do some simple calibration prior to the scan, but once it's scanned, you've only got very crude or overtly powerful tools for adjusting the contrast or levels.
I definitely agree with Felix that the Amiga market needs to live *now*, or it will not live tomorrow.
As for the lack of support for parallel scanners; there's one good reason; the parallel port is awful and its scanners are, too.
