From penguinppc.org.
THENDIC has sent us word that the Pegasos motherboard is about to start shipping. Included with the motherboard will be a copy of Yellow Dog Linux.
For more Information from Thendic click on Read More. Raquel Velasco and Bill Buck
We will post a Press Release tomorrow on the Thendic-France website. The first Pegasos computer has been shipped. MorphOS is installed and it will run Yellow Dog Linux too. The penguinppc.org post does not fully include all the information we forwarded yesterday. The first production units are being delivered to a US based customer. Beginning next week, resellers will be able to order the Pegasos motherboard. The minimum order is ten units at 550 Euros/unit. A Developer Program will also be announced shortly. In May, Thendic-France hired three new developers to exclusively work on the Pegasos. Interested and qualified developers are welcome to contact us directly.

We congratulate the bplan and Thendic-France team!

Hell, yeah! Well done!
Personally, I'm still most likely to go for AOS4, but I think this is fantastic news,
provided you can run your existing miggy progs.
In fact, subject to reviews, etc, perhaps this is the job for me.
Question for anyone who knows:
Will I be able to run OctaMED SoundStudio on this?
(could be the clincher)
Congratulations guys!
Cheers,
Robert

What trollish comments?
Apparently they do have MorphOS, but it definitely isn't MorphOS 1.0 and this
doesn't mean you can buy one (Pegasos/MorphOS) from KDH.
Thendic sure are confident.

Well, it runs on Amithlon, so there's a good chance it will run on
MorphOS sooner or later.
You need a Paula emulator (like Nulle Puh or Puh der Baer) and MIDI in
and out. Mail laire@t-online.de (Ralph Schmidt) and ask him.
The screen display will certainly work, and rendering to a disk file.

So far so good.
> You need ...... MIDI in and out.
Ah, now do you (or anyone else!) know if either my existing amiga midi i/f will work,
or if there will be a compatible Pegasos midi i/f?
> Mail laire@t-online.de (Ralph Schmidt) and ask him.
Will do, cheers Don.

I'm sorry but these news aren't related to Amiga. Sure, great hardware, very amiga alike OS and all but it's still not an AmigaOS compatible machine with an OS that uses emulation and reverse engineering in a questionable way for binary compatibility with Amiga applications. It's not an Amiga just like OS/2 isn't Windows, stop marketing it as an Amiga and post this kind of news on http://www.morphos-news.de instead.
This is not flamebait, it's the facts and simply the way it is. However, those not aware of the real world will probably flame away anyway. So, prove my point and flame, I'm sure it will benefit your cause.

Oh just stop it the lot of you. Enjoy it for what it is, a machine for running linux and MorphOS. I ain't gonna buy one myself, but I respect anyone who can come up with a good design. I fail to see how it's cleaner or better than the AmigaOne, but it's still a very good design. Nice going, guys.
So, how many boards are shipping? And what kind of support is there for the board in Linux? (I don't mean YDL or Debian or anything, that's GNU/Linux, I mean just the Linux kernel, what kind of patches would one need and where would one get them?).

all they will need is a recompile..

Sure, I understand Christian for beeing neutral and frankly, I don't think he cares that much anyway. (No offense, Chris.) However, does that make my point invalid? No. I'm asking people to please don't mix the two platforms and that the MorphOS side is actually our enemy using parasitic marketing reducing the chances of the real next generation Amiga to become successful. People need to realize that there IS a conflict of interest which is hurting both sides as long as we don't go seperate ways. I'm tired of seeing Pegasos/MorphOS news on Amiga websites (not just ANN) and what really pisses me off is when I see guys posting things like: "I heard about this new Amiga called Pegasos...". You see, no matter how you look at it, the MorphOS/Pegasos is doing parasitic marketing with these kind of news and it's harmful to those actually owning the name and is doing the real next generation Amiga, period.

So you mean that if Amithlon or AROS was having legal problems
with Amiga Inc (which one of them seems to have) they would
suddenly not be amiga news anymore ?
Is your defenition of Amiga news something that must come
straight from Amiga Inc or must be partners of Amiga Inc ?
Are you saying that money (to buy the name) should rule
over work, commitment, community, etc ?
Well, whatever your answers are, its not you running the site anyway.
My suggestion is you open up amiwankers.org and everyone would be happy.

This site isn't called "AINN". That's what amiga.com is for. I'm really glad that Amiga Inc doesn't control the Amiga community. They have very little to do with it. The funny thing about you, in my opinion, is that you'd rather call Amiga DE for "Amiga" than Morphos/Pegasos.
Amiga Inc can't tell us what to buy and what to not buy. If Morphos is interesting for amiga users then there's very little Amiga Inc can do about that. I think.
My imprssion is that this site and many other ones are about the community. And if YOU don't like it, that's not our problem. You're not the one who decides what's interesting for the community and not - which your pathetic attempt makes it look like you think. I don't think it's about this really. I think you try to become good friends with Ben Hermans. Crazy as it might sound.

And I think you know that this is interesting for a lot of people even if you don't care about it. You can EASILY avoid ANYTHING that you're not interested in. And I think that goes for anyone.
