In reply to Comment 1 (star1):
I think Amiga programmers would have been more interested if Amiga Inc
had produced an SDK that ran on the Amiga when they first started, two
and a half years ago. Instead, it was presented as a thing for Linux
and Windows programmers.

In reply to Comment 2 (Don Cox):
I think you are absolutely right about the need of an Amiga version of the SDK. I know it would probably not have been worth doing for the 68K, but since the needed Intent stuff allready exists for PPC it would be very clever of Amiga to release an Amiga version of the SDK with AmigaOS 4.
That would ensure they get some more dedicated programmers, especially if the content made, also ran on AmigaOS.

It would have been worth doing a 68k version. The PII would be much
the same as for the AmigaOne anyway (interfacing to P96/CGFX/AHI etc).
By the time OS 4 comes out, AI will have been in business for nearly 3
years. Quite a lot of programming by Amiga programmers could have been
done in that time.
Also, the exclusion of Amiga users from the program generated a lot of
bad feeling, which is still active. The message from Amiga Inc was the
same as from Gateway - "Your Amigas are a pile of old rubbish. We have
something new and shiny based on
QNX/Linux/Elate/Windows/Raspberry-with-Mango."

Because they already have a life and program the Amiga just cause they like it? What has DE to do with Classic Amiga? I hope both DE and Classic survive, but will AmigaOS in the future still be AmigaOS?! Remember they were scrapping it in the beggining. Just imagine they were finishing the thing that keeps the community alive! DE? Sure good product, best of luck to it.

If you haven't realised Amiga Inc ("AI") is good for nothing, they have missed or failed in the pda market before they could even get their foot in the door.
Remember the deal months ago with Sharp and the Zaurus, AI couldn't even deliever on that. Forget about DE it is vapourware, forget about AI it is dead!
