From Amiga.org and Czech Amiga News : There will be a demonstration by Eyetech's Alan Redhouse of the AmigaOne G3-SE on Sunday 23rd June at the great summer Amigafest Amigabastringue. This is a developer board, exactly the same as the boards that will be sold with AOS4.0 Alan also has a surprise in store. You'll have to come to the meet for details, but this is definitely a 'be there or be square' occasion. See this site (in French) for further details and instructions on how to get to the party.

Does that mean they sell developer-boards to end-users? Hopefully there will be non-developer-boards too.

In reply to Comment 1 (Arno):
The hardware is the same for developer and end-user versions.
The developer version of the current A1 is for developers, ie people ready to try out/develop early software and report/fix bugs.
There is no point selling hundred (thousands?) of consumer boards until there is something to run on them. We are waiting for an OS.

In reply to Comment 1 (Arno):
So in other words: Alan showed the TeronCX while some guys were working on the updated/Amiga version called at first AmigaONE1.5 and after that AmigaONE SE.
The developer version is exactly the same as the end user version. So what this announcement is saying is that Alan is not longer showing the TeronCX, but the AmigaONECX with the 686B soutbridge, 600Mhz etc.
This is the same board as the one showed in Leeuwarden. I expect that TurboLinux is now working and that Alan will show eventually an AmigaOS4 beta (or even a release candidate?).

I confirm the news going to the manifestation with some Amiguys from Lyon & Valence.
This will be an occasion for another digital photo session of the AmigaOne, plus the surprise of course.

I can only think of two things the surpise could be,
1. Early beta of 0S4 running on the AmigaOne G3-SE (hopfullly)
2. AmigaOne-XE also on display (intersting but not as good as no. 1!)
(I don't know anything for sure, but the above is what I think could be on show)

Maybe a similar surprise to the one supplied in the previous set of A1 photos ;)

No OS4 at this meeting. Nor in any months beginning with 'J' this year, that's for sure.

If they don't show runing AmigaOS 4 beta at this meeting they shouldn't speak about any suprise
because people will be disappointed.

I agree, maybe they should just say what it is rather than we all speculate.
From looking at the message from Alan Redhouse on the A1 list, it looks like the surpise might be Suse Linux working on the A1. (But I suppose thats just more specualtion from me?!)

That's not anonymous, that's Shawn the Broken Record Bus Arch Troll. Sorry,
Shawn, no matter how many times you repeat your nonsense, you can't stop it.
You only succeed in making yourself look even more foolish every time.

About A1.5 & dev boards & dev list:
"What I will say is that inevitably some people on the list have far more
experience than others when it comes to installing linux. Since the dev
group voted to initially standardise on SuSE PPC Linux - and the A1 boards
are NOT the same as the Teron CX boards (which run Turbo Linux) - the group
decided to let a select few of the real experts to make an easily
installable distribution of SuSE Linux PPC and UAE-PPC first.
Given this - and although the remaining dev boards have already been
manufactured - it was/is in my view, unfair to ask the remaining, less
Linux-centric developers to pay for their dev boards until this SuSE/UAE
release is finalised. Progress has been very good and this is expected to
take place - without fanfare - shortly.
In parallel with this Hyperion are making good progress with sorting out the
OS4 boot process, and the help that they have received form the Linux
experts on the A1G3 dev list has been significant."

Surprice? Could be anything...

The exclusive no view of the surprise:
"We have kept this very hush, hush but the new OS was finished weeks ago, we ordered the consumer versions of AmigaOne and shipped them over.
They are available from your dealer on Monday. We hope this is acceptable to you."

Actualliy ite me Basicbsd who showed what a fool you are in the Amiga channel.
Let us not for get you dont know who this shawn is ,and that fact has been
proven also. You took someones word for it. When he himself went to cookesy website and
still thinks thats him . Which the whoel thing is so chaotic its not even funny.
By the way the real shawn doesnt argue in here, and hasnt been in here for sometime.
Although he will soon be emailing kemp to post it in here. Its ironic that you treat him
as someone special even though its not him. The ironic part is the real Shawn is
someone special which the Amiga community owes a great deal too. A lot of people have already met
Shawn and respect him and yet they dont know it as of yet.
So quit bashing what you know nothing of and support the Amiga community as Shawn is.

Yep, another one of the little dwarfs in Shawn's head. When will you ever
learn that your childishness doesn't fool anyone?
> who showed what a fool you are in the Amiga channel.
That would be a neat trick since I don't do any "Amiga channel" and never
have. So now we have established beyond any doubt that you are a liar.
> By the way the real shawn doesnt argue in here, and hasnt been in here for

Sure, Shawn, whatever you say.

You're a lunatic that everyone curses because you make legitimate Amiga users
embarassed. You owe everyone money for wasting their time.
> So quit bashing what you know nothing of and support the Amiga community as

You only drive people away from the Amiga.

Isnt it strange how you couldnt say who Shawn realy is? No its not. You just dont
know, and as for that last comment -haines get a life.
There are alot that support him, from me-BasicBsd , Coldfire ,and others on the morph
channel see you as a complete jerk.
Thats right go to the morphos channel if you dare.
On to something else for this is just childish the way ehaines and a few like him act.
I really do hope Eyetech comes around along with hyperion on he os . Oh well only time will tell.
