Yeah:-/ At least the page counter seems to be at ~124,000. Maybe people are procrastinating.

I'm a bit wary as they have said nothing about using the vouchers overseas.
Ie: they have not said you can go into a dealer in the UK, Germany etc and get the reduction.
I've got 34 pounds waiting for this.

I too would like to get a t-shirt, but until a more user-friendly system is set up for Europe/UK, I will not be partaking. :-(
The number of orders placed is very low, then Again it was announced on a Monday. If you want to maximise success you should aim all press releases for Friday Afternoons/Weekend. (You capture most people that way)
Having said all that, the main reason that most people probably still haven`t brought anything is because they want to see "the goods" first, so to speak.
I think Amiga/Eyetech/Hyperion should bite the bullet and announce a final release date. Then stick to it.
This will aleviate a lot of fears/concerns.

Yeah, without a release date I bet many won't buy it. And the majority will probably wait till they get the first impressions once AmigaOS4/AmigaOne comes out. And there's the ones like me, that want't to wait at least for the socketed version, or maybe even the G5 version.

G5?!? Shame it seems like the same story. IF the G5 version was available today, many people would say "I'm waiting for the G7 version".

If buying a coupon got me $50 towards a SharkPPC + OS4, and I could buy one from the UK without a credit card, I would.
But, I can't afford an AmigaONE *AND* a SharkPPC, so I'm not going to buy a coupon.

Or maybe there are some worried people at bPlan/Thendic/MOS who are checking the counter every couple of seconds. I'm sure that the 150ish coupons sold to date greatly exceeds the total pre-orders of the Pegasos... and that's supposedly been available for pre-order for much, much longer ;)

It seems the sales varies between 1-10 per hour. Not sure if the peak rate has already been at some point. After the word has spread enough, sales will drop (even more), unless AI manages to add something new to the soup (like secured refunding, preview of the t-shirt, random bundling of old AmigaMall merchandise, coupon adverticing on some major news site, ..., currently it just is a bit pathetic attempt).

>>Can someone please do a review of the coupon? I'd like to know what I'm buying.
The following review was conducted by Pointless-Reviews-Inc. Upon hearing of the release of the new high-tech AmigaOne-Coupon we decided to test it against similar competitors, in this case a sheet of photocopier paper, a piece of toilet paper and a $50 bank note. We then conducted a series of tests and recorded the results:
Bulk Value Test: Using $50 we decided to puchase as many sheets of paper as possible.
A1 Coupon - 1
$50 note - 1
Photocopy paper - 5000 sheets
Toilet paper - 5,000,000 sheets
Clearly the toilet paper proved to be the clear winner here with a very poor showing for the coupon and $50 note.
Trade-In-Test: We attaempted to trade in the pieces of paper for a new A1 mobo.
A1 Coupon - we got $50 off the retail price.
$50 note - we got $50 off the retail price.
Photocopy paper - the salesperson asked us to leave the building.
Toilet Paper - the salesperson told us to &%^$ off and called the police.
The joint winners here were the coupon and the $50. The toilet paper was much worse than expected as we got nothing off the price, plus it cost us $5000 to bail our tester out of the county jail.
Ass-Wipe-Test: We attemped to wipe our bottoms on the pieces of paper.
A1 Coupon - soft, strong and thoroughly absorbant.
$50 note - "smeared" rather that "removed"
Photocopy paper - caused some rather nasty paper cuts on the tester's bottom.
Toilet Paper - Testers fingers penetrated the paper causing him to have to wash his hands for 30 minutes with a nail brush.
A clear win for the A1 Coupon and a warning to everyone not to wipe with photocopy paper!!!
Free T-Shirt Test: We attempted to get a free T-Shirt when puchasing the pieces of paper. In the case of the $50, we asked several banks to give us a free T-Shirt while withdrawing $50 from our checking accounts.
A1 Coupon - YES!!!
$50 - No, however one cute cashier gave me her phone number.
Photocopy paper - no
Toilet paper - no
Summary: Despite a poor showing in the "Bulk Value Test", the A1 Coupon proved to be the clear winner overall and comes highly recommended.
I hope this helps ;)

I would (and so would others it seems) like to know how the deal works outside of the US - I have no problem being billed in $$ but when/how do we get our t-shirt, and more importantly what is on it?!
Seriously though, how is the deal going to work in the UK, will Eyetech be shipping t-shirts?
:)

There're at least 10000 former Amiga users reading that forum. I tried to submit a post but it was rejected (hmm... maybe it sounded a bit to much like advertising.)

Yeah well, there's a *BIG* difference between this and the scams run by DCE, P5 and Anti-Gravity. They lied out their *ahem BUTT ahem* and stole >$1000 a shot. The ABSOLUTE worst case senario would be you bought a $50 tshirt. Now we all know Eyetech and Hyperion aren't going anywhere.

I honestly don't know how this will work out. Personally I am getting the feeling A-Inc are starting to focus more on OS4.0/A1 etc, and less on the sinking ship DE.

Amiga do seem to be putting their head towards the desktop platform now , but i wouldn't say they've given up on DE , they just want something to run it on to do it justice.

Was checking the counter and within a few minutes the number of coupons sold went up by three units. I haven't bought mine yet, I'm waiting for my credit cards next billing cycle, but I will soon. 189 (Right now) coupons might not seem much, but I want to remind to those who forget or ignore it that this means already a safe 189 preorders for the first model of the AmigaOne. And when you buy the coupon you're not just preordering the A1, but, more important, you're showing Amiga investors that we do exist and this might be the difference between giving or not giving more cash to Amiga to go on with their projects. Not only, you're actually doing yourself a double favore, because this also shows other HW developers/resellers that we do exist as a market and we are willing to put the money where our mouth is. Someone might even decide to go ahead and produce another AmigaOne (or watcha want to call it) for OS4. At the end we all have to benefit. So, if you do want to get that coupon, but still have a doubt, think that this is a move that could benefit you in the long term.
