Gary Peake has asked that this information be passed along. His message outlines how people can purchase the $50 coupon if they don't have a credit card.
I have received a few hundred emails that there are concerns from our Euro and Scandinavian Amigans about not having credit cards and thus not being able to take advantage of the current coupon promotion. Bill has quickly worked out the following for any who wish to do it another way. Simply get an American Express (or other) money order, check or whatever in the equivalent of $50.00 US (ANY bank worldwide can do this for you) and mail postal mail to:

Amiga Inc.
P.O. Box 887
Ravensdale, WA 98051

A coupon will be sent back to you after the funds are received and tallied. All benefits of the current promotion will apply to anyone who uses this method of signing up per Bill McEwen.

We do NOT recommend you send cash through postal mail! Any bank worldwide can make the conversion into US dollars and all banks have some form of money order similar to American Express available for their patrons.

Please make sure ALL appropriate information is sent with your check or money order.

name, email address, home address, phone number, etc.

A listing of current dealers who will be carrying the AmigaOne is at http://www.eyetech.co.uk/amigaone/dealers.php

Sincerely,
Gary Peake
Amiga Inc.

So, will my T-shirt be sent from my local Nederland retailer or from the US? What is the leadtime for this?
And do we have a get out clause if the machines take over say.. 6 months to appear?
Cheers

Now that people can send in cheques, we wont be sure of the final total until AmiWest, as the DE shop will only show card orders. ah well :o) has to be a bit of a surprise left i suppose ;-)
come on 2500 orders, and come on my free AmigaOne system ;-)
*rubs his magic 8 ball*
better luck next time ?!?!?! nooooooooooooooooo!

I also find it funny what people think they will have to do for this $50 off.
Kronos seems to think (on Amiga.org) that you buy the coupon now, then after you buy a AmigaOne system, Amiga send you a $50 cheque back.
now i dont know where he grabbed this from in the ether, but i was always under the impression i could get the money off when i paid for the system itself.
reading things like "If you do not win in the drawing, you simply take your coupon and wear your shirt into your local Amiga reseller, and you will receive $50.00 off when you purchase your new system." (taken from the exec update) makes it very self explanatory, or so i thought.
now people can send off cheques if they dislike using credit cards, so if you are interested in an AmigaOne bought from your nearest dealer, then go and get a $50 coupon.
Everyone out there who hasnt and is thinking about it, the AmigaOne dev boards are out there as we speak, things are happening, its an easy way to help out, and its only $50 which you will not have to pay in the future when you have less money anyway ;-).
Its not like you are preordering an expansion card worth $1000 and never getting it ;-)

No actually, it was IBM that bough them out. I heard that their intention is to make AmigaOS their new mainframe operating system. Something about OpenVMS not being safe enough.

This is a valid personal opinion expressed in a comment, so there's no risk of it being removed/moderated. Although the name field isn't really supposed to be used in the way you did...

Of course it is. It also hurtles through space on the back of 4 elephants which in turn stand on the back of the giant planet sized turtle (Great A'Tuin).

It's an opinion, and it was expressed without using abusive language. Whether I agree with it is an entirely different matter.
On second thought, it might be considered as trolling, but then again the best reaction to trolling is to just ignore the poster.
I just wanted to make sure that people do not misunderstand my latest MOTD: I do not intend to moderate based on opinion, but on the bad way such opinions are sometimes expressed.

Its a case of "Ill get in first with <its a fact>" and plead with people not to follow up. The
actions of a teenager.
I looked at the mickeysoft website, it didnt have much to do with Amiga on it ;-)

The US has laws about being able to get out of such things, for preordering, check www.ftc.gov for rules and such, the way they have organized it however, they may be able to get out of not specifying a ship date, based on the T-Shirt thing, normally you have 30 days to get out of a *purchase*, if the product being purchased isn't delivered in that time frame, according to US law.

No actually, it was McDonalds. I know this because I spoke with Ronald McDonald himself and he confirmed all the details. They will be releasing a new burger called the "BigOne(tm)"! However, they're not sure how popular these will be so they are now selling vouchers for $0.50. With each voucher you'll get one small free fries and a free Ronald McDonald party hat! And if that's not enough you are automatically entered into a draw to win a free "BigOne(tm)". I'm mailing my $0.50 in today! :)

Maybe you should start ignoring trolls?
Though you might want to ignore this:
Why haven't Eyetech or Hyperion said a word about this promotion?
Maybe cause it has nothing to do with them?
But of course that will not matter for you i guess..

Well, there are some people out in the world that still do believe what propaganda told them sixty years ago...
There are germans that believe what ol' Adolf smeared to the walls, and there are even more people all over the world that do so, too.
Funnily, on the other edge, there are still even more people believing that all germans (or austrians by the way) still act and think the way they were forced to behave 60 years ago...
I'd call this funny alltogether, 'cause else its to pitifying not to cry all day about that....
