It may motivate Bernie to continiue, instead
of simply throwing the towl.

In reply to Comment 1 (Budda):
Didn't you know, petitions and boycotts are how anything gets decided in the Amiga market now ;)
I don't know where Kronos gets the idea of Bernie throwing in the towel (although it wouldn't be a surprise) but I think making some money rather than some online petition would influence his decision to keep going or not.

Sure, but I could bet that the current situation is quite
frustating for him, and at sometime he may think that it
is not worth the effort anymore.

In reply to Comment 3 (tinman):
I'm not an ardent supporter of Amithlon. I don't know if I'll even buy it, but I'm still willing to show support for someone who has worked hard to continue the legacy. The petition might not encourage Bernie any more to do so, but it might give H&P pause for thought. It's more of a show of support than the petitions and boycots that have been done in the past.

I thinks its to help Bernie not feel the sting of the IP Bitchslap so badly.
Yes Bernie still has some part of his face still hanging on.
But it should be noted that Bernie is not the only one who has had to deal with
the IP Bitchslap and I have no doubt some of the other had lost alot more than
their face or girlfriend.
And then there are those trying to avoid the IP Bitchslap who also have put alot
of work into what they are doing to perhaps release us all from the IP BitchSlap
threat. And there is only one effort to do this. Other effort still have an
IP BitchSlap leash or string attached. Efforts like UAE (GPL) and Amithlon
(proprietary) and AmigaXL (probably some combination???) have IP leashes attached.
And as such the choke chain can be pulled at anytime.
There is AROS, the effort to avoid the IP bitchslap altogether. And this can certainly
help everyone, even those swinging the IP bitchslap arm/hand to get away from that curse
of "Amiga IP". Lets' face it, Amiga inc is not the developers of AmigaOS but if anything
they are the developers of AmigaDE, Amiverse, Amiga Component Model, and you might even
say SHEEP (but if it such a good language then why limit it to one platform???)
Anyways, Amiga inc, has there own projects, they are not the developers of AmigaOS and as
such is so damn IP BitchSlapable, why even use it as there is an better route, even if it
means taking a few steps back away from the reach ofthe bitchslapping arm.
Then again, it seems really clear that there are those who really do love domination and
submission roles, probably even love to be IP bitchslaped or to IP bitchSlap someone else.
Anyone what to guess at the count?

Huh?
From what was posted in the last executive update it appears that all of the IP issues have been resolved. So why is this necessary? If you want to show your support drop Bernie a line directly or simply buy the damn thing. Better yet, encourage Amiga Inc. to add Amithlon to the 'I Am Amiga' promotion.
But please, spare us yet another senseless petition.

While Bernie and McBill seem to have come to an agreement, it's
H&P this time who feels left out. They (Harald Frank) claim that
they own (parts of) the Amithlon-IP and have send notes to dealers
suggesting legal actions.
-> excellent product but lousy actors

What's left of "Amiga companies" is just one incestuous slimy pit. The result is that to get anything done or sell anything you have climb in the pit too. To unobservant outsiders this might still look like a lot of separate squabbles, but it all joins up, it's all the same 2nd rate people fighting over scraps.

All code developed in conjunction with Harold has been removed and replaced.
Also, the current holdup has absolutely nothing to do whatsoever with H&P, wish I could say more, but I can't.
