Virtual Programming have started porting Anco's new KickOff 2002 to the intent (and therefore AmigaDE) platform. Release is expected in Q3/2002. They have some info about the game here.

Unfortunately the only info needed is that it's not as good as the older versions:(

In reply to Comment 1 (MoodyB):
Interesting to see this brand new game being ported. Even better if they made it for PPC Amigas. :)
It seems popular; does it really suck?

Well, it will be available for AmigaOS, the minute it can run AmigaDE.

KO2002 is quite fun actually. I've been playing it alot more than FIFA 2002. This is how KO3 really should have been, although it could use some polish.
Theres also a new version of Player Manager on the way, financed by the community ( http://www.ko-gathering.com )

Actually KO2002 aint that bad at all. Just like the good old ones except its in 3d. Thank god the working viewangle and most of the feeling is almost the same.

I must admit I'm not a very big fan of football, neither real life or as a computer game, but I think it's great Intent/AmigaDE gets a "serious" title. Maybe we could convince Virtual Programming of AmigaDE's (ami2d/ami3d) benefits so that they use Amiga's Intent extensions (that'd be DE) ;)
But an ambulance driving onto the field to retrieve wounded players, isn't that a bit of an overkill? ;P

In reply to Comment 5 (SJ):
KO2002 is definetely better than Fifa but I would like it to retain some features from the old versions (e.g. controllability was at its best in KO2, Goalkeepers hold the ball too much or dive unnecessarily in KO2002)

In reply to Comment 7 (JohanR):
Well that would be nice, except those extensions don't exist, the free TAO SDK is more advanced/complete then the released AmigaSDK, Amiga hasn't really done anything to advance the TAO environment as far as I can tell (just speculated about it, and talked it up with press releases).

V.P. have the beginings of a pretty good portfolio across several
platforms. It can only mean good things ahead.
