Who's going to be effected by this ( excluding trolling from any *side* ).
Is it mainly to get H&P to stop selling Amithlon1? or their a large number of people chucking around amiga's IP , the H&P Amithlon the only one i can think of :/

Why would they want to extend the deadline , that'd mean more people could save their arse , if i was amiga inc i'd bet that everyone would leave it to the last day like everything else (bills etc) and pull the deadline in at the last moment.
But seriously , does anyone in the amiga circle have enough cash to even think about sueing ?

Amiga is a small company they cannot let someone take advantage of threir IP without paying for it.

H&P (Harald Frank) CLAIM that they have ALL needed licences for AmigaOSXL
and that AInc/Bernie are violating their IP with Amithlon_V2.
Ben Hermans DID spread a ton of "niece" words against bPlan/MorphOS, and
if he can't prove them ....

He didn't specify any companies by name, but mentioned three separate issues.
- Illegal use of Amiga Inc IP in products that have already shipped commercially.
- Illegal use of Amiga Inc owned source code.
- Theft of Amiga Inc property in the form of the missing European inventory.
I think the September 1st deadline refers to all of them, and frankly I hope AI do take action wherever they feel it is appropriate. These issues need to be SETTLED, because nothing can move forward properly until that happens.

Must be H&P.
"- Illegal use of Amiga Inc owned source code."
Well might just be Morphos, which is funny enough aiming at a sep 1st release:-)
"- Theft of Amiga Inc property in the form of the missing European inventory."
I know exactly what that refers to and I was very very dissapointed to hear about that! It's simple theft, which was the last thing I expected from that person!

I am quite sure he refers to all of them, I was just thinking that it was only HP to begin with but after hearing the MP3 I am sure they are serious this time, they have to be.

We could have released something in February but frankly, we were not satisfied with what the result would have been.
We've moved away from the approach whereby 68K code is running in a box with 68K emulation traps on account of it being technologically unsatisfactory.
What we will be releasing is what was initially termed OS 4.2.
I'll disclose more details at 1 PM Pacific or 10 PM CET during a phone interview with Bill Borsari of UGN.

That's BS. Unthought of things come up at the last moment for everyone, no matter how big the company and how much cash they have. It has nothing to do with the argument being discussed. I'm still waiting for Buffy the Vampire Slayer on XBOX, from a company with tons of cash, which has been delayed about a million times now.

You should really quote all relevant info when taking statements out of context. Bill also said he was not going after the users, who obviously paid full price for all the licenses in good faith. It's not their fault that money didn't reach all the supposed licensers, and Bill understands that.
As for existing user discounts, you'd have to remember that licenses like P96 were also paid for, and AFAIK the P96 guys got their money. Would it be fair to ask everyone to pay them again?
The bottom line is that we don't KNOW the sales details, so it's kind of useless to speculate.

Pls let's not just go back into this... It will only hurt the image of hyperion to attend heated discussion without REALLY proving anything.
If you can back up what you claim you can, then please do so in a court room where it belongs. It's getting REALLY OLD of seeing the same things being fought about back and forth with ppl from each side CLAIMING that they can back up THEIR words over the other. Yet we fail to see the REAL proof EVERYTIME (even when it's coming from your mouth) So please, do something REAL about it and sue already so we won't have to see these fights again for awhile.
This is not a flamebait. I'm just too damn tired of seeing this same old "my os is better than yours" crap coming back into fashion.

This is stupid. Who are AInc going to sue ? H&P ? BPlan ? MorphOS ? Aros ? The authors of Amithlon/UAE ?
They'll probably lose on suing most of those on the grounds of anti-competitiveness. Then they'll have no money, and they'll go bust. Again.
