Today the "Butterfly Edition" of ScummVM for MorphOS was released. The core is the current CVS version of ScummVM 0.2.0. The "Butterfly Edition" contains many improvements and optimisations in the MorphOS interface that affect the general usability. The update is thus highly recommended. Comments and suggestions are welcome as usual.

Due to a bug in the beta version of the cdda library, the CD audio of Monkey Island may not work with certain CD-ROM drives. Regrettably, the current version of the library does not work anymore with the public MorphOS demo. Those with access to later betas may request a bugfixed version from me by e-mail.

Not flamebiating or anything here .... but MorphOS being it *own* OS shouldn't this be kept to the morphOS sites ... Yes i know morphOS runs on current amiga's , but so do most of the *nix systems and you don't see people posting everything that hits freshmeat etc.
In the next few days i should have these guides done :
Installing Debian PPC Woody on APUS
Install and Config of XFree86 for blizzardvision / cybervision and chipset graphics including window managers.
The blizzard PPC *crash* course
Guess which one i would consider posting on an amiga site more then the others ?

Everyone here knows that i'm an OS4 supporter and rather see MOS ditch its Amiga compatabilty and go for fame on its OWN but i actually do NOT have a problem with Rudiger Hanke posting this. In fact i understand why he does a MOS version as OS4 is not here yet. But he can be assured i'll write a couple of mails to him as soon as its here to port it to OS4 aswell.
So now you know my opinion on OS4/MOS.
OS4 is official, MOS should go it's OWN way without Amiga compatabilty and all will be fine. :)
For now i will hope some WarpOS follower will update the WOS version to latest tree as i want to play Indy too!
Timothy

This has been discussed a lot before, and I´ll try not to bite youre flamebait. But it is perfectly allright to post MorphOS news on this site. So say Christian Kemp, and he is GOD ;-)
MorphOS is one of many promising OS solutions for the Amiga community, others are AROS, Amithlon and of course OS4. This is a free and open community news waterhole and forum (not a closed and restricted to Amiga Incorporated only) and *many* people in the community are interested in news about these OS'es, and to them related software. If you are not interested in MorphOS, AROS and Amithlon, then you are allways free to not read posts about those.

I'm not saying ANN should be amiga inc only , the point is MorphOs is its own os ... Just like QNX , linux , BSD ... That later two exist on the amiga also but people don't post any news on applications that run on these here.
I'm not saying remove morphOS / morphOS app news ... Just accept Amiga-Linux etc news , because if you accept morphos news but bitch amiga linux etc news be it classic or amigaOne its a bit hypocritical. And I think we've all seen the mess that happens on amigaOne linux threads.

In reply to Comment 5 (cOrpse):
Maybe MorphOS has more to do with amiga and amiga users than *nix because it has a great compatibility with amigaos, warpos and powerup applications, don't you think ?
This compatible OS is likely to interest many ANN readers and has a (legal :) ) relationship with Amiga, which *nix don't have apart the fact that they can run on Amigas.

There's nothing stopping you from leaving if you don't like the variety of Amiga news being posted here.
It's not as though you've ever contributed anything but flamebait here is it?

And what exactly is *amiga* news , amigaOne is amiga news and it gets trolled by people like yourself complaining that its running linux , Someone question morphOs and you go on the defensive.
>It's not as though you've ever contributed anything but flamebait here is it?
*yawn* take off the butterfly glasses

In reply to Comment 6 (Fab1):
I agree, and the look and feel of MorphOS is practically identical to AmigaOS. As is the functionality, the filesystem structures, etc. An old time Amiga enthusiast can sit down in front of a MorphOS setup (or an Amithlon setup, or (soon) an AROS setup) and use the "Amiga" exactly the same way as he is used to. Most Amiga users wont notice much difference, except that everything feels updated and goes very fast. You can even run your old 68k and PPC Amiga apps!
Clearly, you couldn´t say that about QNX, Linux, Windows or any other (Non Amiga style) operating systems, *INCLUDING* Amiga Inc's TAO software (which they missleading calls *Amiga* Anywhere). So you can´t say that MorphOS equals to Linux in the case of usability and philosophy. MorphOS equals to AmigaOS. MorphOS could very well have been Amiga OS 4, and it would have, if the world had been more rational ...

No really, he's right. He doesn't bash anyone, it's just true.
MOS was designed to be a complete rewrite of an amiga OS like
OS, amiga compatible, and much more modern. That's a fact.
Now, I'm looking fwd to its final release.

In reply to Comment 14 (DaveW):
The damage is allready done, the brand values has been polluted with something that the customers surely wont recognize as "Amiga". It should have been called something else from the beginning. Not doing so is *one* of the biggest strategical mistakes that Amiga Inc has done so far ...
(BTW, I don't understand the quotation in your post - do you mean that I said that? Or do you mean that it reflects my opinions? None is true.)

In reply to Comment 15 (takemehomegrandma):
Fair enough, I think the brand was polluted fatally when it moved to
Escom and they failed to deliver anything new. Every time someone
posts on Slashdot the response is "Amiga .. oh they deliver (Sarcasm)"
and its not specifically about the new owners. Escom, Viscorp, Gateway
have all added to the drip drip destroying the brand.
My point *was* about branding.
The quotation reflects what I think of as the biggest problem we have
to face before we can get behind the new machines. We have to get over
what Amiga *meant* to us. If any one given person cannot handle that
its too late and they should just stick to the classic until they are
bored with it. They have to realise that pissing in the tent aint
helping.
If MorphOS is the way for some, then go that way but stop deriding
Amiga Inc for not chosing it - the choices have been made.
The sabre rattling by AInc and the MorphOS userbase back and forth
over IP is a seperate issue.
That wasnt clear, apologies if you took it as me thinking that was
your view or a quotation.
