I've ported the latest (last?) version of xjdic (2.3) to the amiga
got fed up waiting :-)
I've ported the latest (last?, 3.0 was supposed to have been released
quite some time ago, I belive)
My port still requires the other files
AmiKanji_Beta etc. from aminet. the only thing I currently
have on my site is the standalone version binary.
the cliend should also not really be any problem, but I don't know
what it is supposed to do :-)
copy the exec to where you have the current 1.2 version of xjdic
and run away with it :-)
my port currently requires ixemul and might miss some features.
Here it is
let me know if it fails miserably :-)

|
Posted by Jan-Erik Karlsson on 16-Sep-2002 22:06 GMT | In reply to Comment 1 (4pLaY): it allows you to for instance
write a english word and get the kanji (jap, chinese) for it
or the opposite write a kanji and get the english word for it.
this is a very simple explanation.
if you haven't looked on the net for kanji programs/information I doubt
you will need it :-) |

I'll be downloading it later... |

I'll check it next week and let you know if it works, thanks for compiling it :)

Japanese support under AmigaOS has always been crap crap crap, so I'm happy to see tools get added...
I'm still pushing for proper Japanese support in AmigaOS 4.x but it certainly won't be in 4.0 :-( |
|
Posted by koan on 18-Sep-2002 06:37 GMT | I'd like to see more Japanese support.
I'd also like to see more support for Thai.
Will there be any concessions towards Unicode or UTF-8,
anyone know ? |

Posted by Jan-Erik Karlsson on 18-Sep-2002 10:47 GMT | In reply to Comment 6 (koan): Unicode will be part of the OS but if it will be for 4.0 I doubt that. |
|
Posted by Jan-Erik Karlsson on 18-Sep-2002 14:09 GMT | I have uploaded a new version of it to my homepage
or donwload it <A HREF="http://hem.fyristorg.com/TRG/xjdic23.lzx">here</A>
if someone knows ttrender.library and/or ucode.library inside out
please contact me regarding implementing truetype & unicode support
(truetype support probably needs unicode support) |
