At GFX-BASE you can read a review of the MYST-like adventure-game Aqua. Is it as good as Myst? Find out yourself! We also have a german version of the review for you as we were also testing the brand-new german DVD-case-edition powered by Funtime-World in cooperation with the Amiga-Arena. Also, thanx to both of them for sending us a copy for the review.

My Aqua bugbears:
* when viewed through a GFX card the animated sequences are displayed low res so it flicks between a hi res image of a lift ( say ) and then a low res top left hand corner animation of the lift.
* Sloooow response to mouse clicks
* Cant identify items in inventory after a while ( 256 colours problem or lack of text labels? )
* Clues too cryptic to hold your interest for long.
* On the islands clicking on a certain direction does not always take you into the perspective as you would expect.
Other than that its OK. 6/10

what is in my inventory but if you use your brain you will find out... ;-)

hmm i found this level on of the best with the boat!

1/ Slow response on a decent resolution on an 060 with GFX card yes.
2/ Clues too cryptic and disconnected to hold your interest compared to Myst, Riven and Return To Myst.
AKA I can think quite happily but not beyond a boredom threshold.
Items cannot be easily identified. Period.

Just, a note on the speed issue. Try copying
the game to your HD it runs about twice as
fast from there and is generally fairly fast
on even an 030 machine on the HD. On 060
