<cough, choke>
I sincerely hope not, for MorphOS' sake: that's bloody expensive for an OS. Shurely some mistake? Perhaps you meant the entry-level beta version of the Pegasos?

Well, he means Pegasos + MorphOS 1.0 + PPC750CXe@600 module.
BTW, the G4 price they gave (200E), IS valid, it's an upgrade price,
you trade in your g3 module, pay 200E and get a nice g4.

When will MOS be able to buy on its own to run on PowerUP cards? And how much will it cost.
MorphOS v1.0 : Comment 10 of 160ANN.lu
Posted by Rob on 13-Oct-2002 15:19 GMT
What about PowerUP users. Will there be a version for 603 and
Mediator users which allows you to run software, or even just open and
close drawers without a lockup.

In reply to Comment 10 (Rob):
Well, I dont know. But wuy would they limit themselves to
only the pegasos ? And as an older version of MOS already
runs on PowerUP. I would be VERY surprised if it doesnt
come to PUP/other PPCs, eventually. Even Mac Hardware
has been said to be considered (some day). But first
things first, getting the Pegasos version stable.

MorphOS runs fine on PPC603 cards but it will only support GREX pci and
graphic cards supported by CGX (BVision, CVision, etc).
Mediator and Prometheus are not supported because of lack of CGX drivers.

Then you'd be a thief.
You'd have to be slightly retarded (or an eight-year-old "leet warez dewd") if you still think that the Amiga (or MOS) market can support any level of piracy at all.
Once you've pir8ed MOS, will you then also pir8 all your MOS apps too?
And then, once there are no more apps because of all the pir8s will you moan and complain?
You make me sick.

EVERY single crackers site says that, just Look at paradox site, they pirate games & programs like mad but the site says nothing about warez and even threatens to report people who ask for warez,
4play is a PIRATE, i can 100% prove he pirates amiga products but then again you people are trying to sweep it under the carpet as usual

"Pegasos System V8
Pegasos Computer incl. G3 CPU module (750CXe/600 MHz) in Midi tower case. 64 MB graphic card Radeon 8500, 40 GB HDD, 256 MB Registered RAM, 16x/48x DVD-Laufwerk, 3.5" FDD, keyboard, optical scroll mouse, tower case incl. power supply, MorphOS on CD-ROM and pre-installed on HDD."
Can I play 3D accelerated games immediately? (Quake2, Heretic2, etc.?)
Can I immediately watch DVD videos with it?
Does it support the mousewheel straight out of the box?

No. 3d drivers for Radeons will come soon. Currently the chips supported are
Voodoo, SiS and Permedia2.
>Can I immediately watch DVD videos with it?
Of course. You need a registered version of FroggerNG though.

Yes.

So, is 1.0 a release candidate? Just another beta? Finished?
Is the "Betatester II" still in beta? Why is it called beta when its sold to anyone? (at full price i assume?)

Out of curiosity, would it actually be legal to run Heretic2 on MorphOS? Since the license for the port was limited to AmigaOS. I assume that restriction does not apply for endusers?

damn thing out anyway."
3.3 is the good version.

Why do you, as an end user (who has purchased the software) care about this?
I think the licence would have only covered Hyperion for selling it as AmigaOS only.
Quit inventing reasons to put people off MorphOS.

I agree with Martin here. The amount of "free" games in the 80's is what brought me to the Amiga. I was 14 years old and neither of my parents was rich. I bought my share of hardware and software, and I'm neither proud nor ashamed of having pirated games in the 80's. I didn't know better. I do now. A lot of people don't. But the Amiga would not have sold as many units if you couldn't have pirated the games, BELIEVE ME.
