Dear Amigans,
the one who answered is a wise fellow.
You shall listen to him.
Some will try to destroy what he says.
But you shall not listen to them.
Your avenger,
Turrican

I thought it was a pretty good interview until the end. He says he doesn't like Amiga inc's apparent defamation of character, but he goes on to take pop shots at Amiga inc himself. A little hipocritical, but otherwise a decent interview.

Otherwise nice review, but it ended in a little bit silly comments.
>What is your opinion about the actual situation and the plans of Amiga Inc.
>and their partner like Hyperion and Eytech (Amiga OS 4.0, Amiga DE respective
>AmigaAnywhere, AmigaOne)?
>Does anybody understand what they want?
Well. I think I do. I think their goal has been the same during the past 1.5-2 years or so.
(develop and deliver the DE to everywhere and AmigaOS as a home server, the AmigaOne is just a stepping stone or bridge towards legacy free OS&HW)
They just are wayyy behind their schedule ... and they most likely will continue to be...
>Every few weeks new announcements are made which are discarded with the next press release. I can't recognize a clear and qualified direction.
I think that is not true. There has been changes, like the revival of AmigaOS, though.
But not that often, definitely not every few weeks.
>What I dislike especially at Amiga Inc. is the bad defamation of a business rival without having any evidence for these claims.
I agree. MOS camp is equally bad ... or at least almost equally bad..
>This is no public business. It must be clarified at court if the allegation is authorized. But it doesn't seem to be authorized otherwise legal measures would have been initiated long ago.
>Which computer/OS combination do you think gots more chances:
>AmigaOne/AOS4.0 or Pegasos/MOS?
>Pegasos with MOS ans AOS4 (if Amiga finally thinks about their license policy).
Is that "as" or "and"? I think he meant "and", then I can agree.
Too bad he did not answer the question. ;-)
> AmigaOne is already a stillbirth. If Mai doesn't feel like it anymore the mainboard will be in the actual state for ever. Mai doesn't mind about Amiga and i doubt that the PX will ever be built in production run. Mai needs the mainboard for chiptests generally and not for sale, why should they put this amount of money in the development?
Wishfull thinking I would say. I bet Mai pretty much does what they are paid for, business as usuall.
If cows had wings they might be able to fly....

Wow! You lucky people! Are you already saw them? It's really sad, that i don't. :(
Where can i see them too?
In the interview:
"Is MotionStudio already working smooth on the Pegasos?
Unfortunately not yet. "
May we know, why?
Why am i got a feeling, that we will get the same 'quality' MorphOS software, as Ralph Smith presented with the Phase5 card's kernel?

Dear Amigans,
Turrican has no camp, no side in the battle.
Turrican fights alone the tough war against false promises whether they come from one side or the other.
Turrican is, even is some don't believe so, the avenger of all Amigans who have kept waiting all these years and who have only received as rewards fake announcements and guestimate dates.
And Turrican knows more than one can imagine.
Definitely your avenger,
Turrican

"Turrican fights alone the tough war against false promises whether they come from one side or the other."
Tell me how you fight ? Do you inject large amounts of money into the amiga market ? develop ground breaking amiga software/hardware ? No is probably your answer.
"Turrican is, even is some don't believe so, the avenger of all Amigans who have kept waiting all these years and who have only received as rewards fake announcements and guestimate dates."
If you've been waiting all these years you should of done like atleast some of us and done something else until the outlook was better.

I haven't seen the programs myself (not released yet, you know), but perhaps you could contact Titan Computer for a guided tour if you really are that interested? OR you could just wait for the release ...
> In the interview:
> "Is MotionStudio already working smooth on the Pegasos?

Propably because it's still under development, don't you think? Not many programs work flawless from the very beginning you know. It propably hasn't reached beta stadium yet ...
But don't worry. You know Titan Computer actually *have* a Pegasos with MorphOS to develop on. Wish I could say the same about A1 + OS4 ...

Hmm well several amiga programs arebeing developed using the extended and improved AOS API on the PPC platform.
Titan are an amiga developer who have taken AOS app development to the next level.
when os4 has apps being developed for it then we can talk about a ppc amiga. compendre?

Actually, I think, Turrican was really born on C64, as Manfred Trenz
was a C64 coder. Factor 5 ported it to the Amiga.
BTW: There are some pretty good new Turrican clones/inspired games
being made for PC:
Hurrican: http://www.poke53280.de. They also have a Katakis-like game
called Takatis.

MorphOSAmigaOS = MorphOS, "Same shit but different", you know. That's the way many users and developers feel. It's here, you can use it, and you can develop for it! It's not released in a end user version yet, all the features (those who comes through third party bundles) are not set, and it's propably not yet 100% bugfree. But it is the only solution available if you want to use or develop in an all PPC Amiga envireonment!

AmigaOS4 apps will be amigaOS4 apps . MorphOS apps are MorphOS apps.

Call it what you want, the name is not the important thing.
> and should therefor run on AmigaOS .. but they don't,
Well, at the moment NO applications runs on OS4, since there is no OS4 available for the developers to develop on(?). But I'm quite confident that when (if?) OS4 will come to the same state as MorphOS is in today, that you will see these applications on that OS distribution too. It will propably be quite easy to port software between those two distributions, and I don't think that any developer will release their software for one system only when it's so easy to reach the *whole* amiga market ...

Neither does Thendic/bplan. I mean, they even write BETATESTER in capital writing to really emphasize that part. Anyone can be a betatester, but betatester is not the same thing as end users (even if they are the same physical person). And it's not broken!
