Merlancia's corporate status has been re-instated. You may remember some fuss when it was revealed that the state of Arizona had dissolved Ryan's corporate status. As a search here shows Ryan has now filed the annual reports and paid his fines, so Merlancia Industries Inc. is back in Arizona's good books. Ryan hasn't quite got around to fixing the web site and putting the new ordering system online, but there's certainly still a fire burning at Merlancia Inc. A laptop PPC Amiga could happen yet.

I'd like an Amiga notebook. Still, first things first.. must get a part time job to start saving for an AmigaOne. :)

I'm not aware of anything that Ryan has ever sold.
I've seen a lot of pictures, but that's about it.
Can anyone say Boxer?
But I hope that Ryan changes his strategy, and actually sells something.
It would be nice.

I think I have seen Merlancia adverts and Amiga component pricelists in some past Amiga mags. So I think they have sold Amiga stuff, but perhaps not Amiga products made by themself...

Didn't they produce, or a least sell an Amiga print magazine. Amiga
Zone, was it not.

Hmm... wouldn't it be easier to get OS4 running on a Mac notebook than invest resources in creating a new one?

A fire still burning at Merlancia?
That is probably just Stimpy lighting his farts.

My thoughts exactly.
Do they have a chance of making a notebook better than the Titanium Powerbook?

IT would for sure be cool if Apple would sign the AmigaOne license ;O)
I would like an iBook with a BoingBall instead of an Apple :O)

From http://merlanciausa.com/beta/layout/
"These products, the 'Merlancia Multimedia Computer' and "Merlancia Convergence Console' products will start to be available in late Q4 2001, with Pilot systems shipping now."
I think Merlancia's (such as so many other "Amiga-oriented" companies) track record speaks for itself.

These are not "fines" that Merlancia paid, they are processing fees for the State to image the documents, put them on their server, and all that other bureaucratic stuff.. let's at least try to keep the terminology correct.. fees are not fines..

Read the filed documents and the Arizona corp. laws yourself if you like. The $135 penalty listed on the 2001 annual report is a FINE paid by Ryan because it took him 14 months to file a simple two page document due in September 2001, and which he could have filed any time in the last couple of years.
He's let his other corporation "World of Merlancia" lapse rather than pay for it.

I've met Ryan and his staff at the AMIGA Shows in St. Louis. He is VERY much an Amiga die hard. Give him a chance and he will produce some remarkable Amiga products! The last 3 years have been real tough on Amiga vendors. Now is the time to start buying AMIGA products again!

Whatever you do, don't pre-pay for anything. And use a credit card so
you can get the money back if the goods are not delivered.

Excuse me? Are you confusing us wth Antigravity and Phase5? We have never requested a pre-orer payment on anything, and we have a track record of turning down offers to pre-order systems. We will only sell what we have to offer..unlike other companies, including everyone's beloved Amiga Inc.
Has anyone received anything for their $50 coupon yet? Ever wonder why your money went to a P.O. Box? My god..at least we have an office and a warehouse here, and a warehouse iin Europe, (which was formerly Commodore's warehouse before Escom AG took over).
As far as the ACC paperwork is concerned, there are fees to process the paperwork, and an extra late fee if the paperwork is late. While someone could call a late fee a fine, a fine is a manditory fee or diciplinary cost. if the paperwork is never filed, there is never a fee...therefore a late fee is not the same as a fine.
Other Merlancia companies will be restored shortly as well. We are int he process of doing a lot of things at M.IND right now...whether or not TWOM/M.TEC or MSI are incorporated won't matter this week, but they should be again in the next week or two, as soon as paperwork is filed on them.
If some of you had any clue what is going on behind cloded doors, both with us and other companies, I think you would be rather shocked. There is a lot going on in the Amiga circles every day that very few are privy to.
Just let me know what you think of your Amiga $50 coupon t-shirt if you ever get it, when we start sending out Team Merlancia racing jackets.
TTFN & Cheers,
