I'm thinking about starting some association that will be for distribution of files from various shows around the world.
@organizers of various shows:
how does that sound?

BBC online? ;-)
If you can organize the "reporters" to digitize in a format that you can either
whap straight up there or recode then it is a grand idea.

All these days, I've been looking at announcements of show reports, pictures, videos; and mirrors of all of those, and all the while I've been thinking "P2P"... Why put so much strain on a few webhosts (or DSL accounts) when you could just spread around the files on, say, something like Edonkey?

And Amiga users with no Amiga edonkey client will access the files how ?

In reply to Comment 3 (Christian Kemp):
Well, I don't know exactly what edonkey is here. but http is a universal protocol that almost no platform lacks means to retrieve.
that's one of the advantages with this. a disadvantage is bandwidht, but with the numbers of volunteers that has mailed me (not all has been able to put mirrors up yet) I don't see much of a problem. my line isn't hogged today, it was at amiwest but that was because the mirrors and the public got access to the files at the same time, thus the mirroring took hours.
This time it was organized a week in advance, everything was set up, people with bandwidth was just waiting for the files and some 8 mirrors (with the combined bandwidth of some 200MBit) now serve the community.
and p2p has disadvantages, mainly lack of speed and also you can't count on them to hang around for some time. people tend to reboot or go offline now and then. the servers now handing out files are for the most part pretty sturdy machines with 24/7 connections. I don't think any of the links used has been very strained this time.

Thankyou.. it's real good to hear what's going on.
It would be really wonderfull, if people learned to give some microphones to audience for those questions.. (in A1 talk those questions can't be heard)

That was the intention, but by the time I had finished going around
announcong the presentation, I couldn't get inside the presentation
area! (Yes I did not hear or see the Hyperion Presentation - Who
being an organiser had it's privilages?
Still, Thanks to Andrew Korn, the Q&A session did address this.

For next time.. You need to rent one big mic with really LONG boom so you can go whacking people into heads with it. :) :)
Anyway it's nice to hear these recordings.

I emailed Andreas the location on the server where he can retrieve it, i had to take down the file because quite frankly, i was getting close to 6GB traffic on that thing in less then 4 days (i only have 10GB/month).
BTW: Audio from the interviews is good in the movie, most questions can be heard from the public :)
