After 1 week the AmigaOne went on sales, today even those Slashdot geeks finally noticed it.

Do you even know what "slashdotted" means?
Obviously not.
Hint - slashdotted means the server has been so overloaded by so many slashdot readers hitting the link, that it is unable to respond.
What YOU meant to say was "AmigaOne is mentioned on Slashdot".
None of the servers hosting the websites linked from slashdot in that story are "slashdotted".
Get it right.

This post captured my attention, although it might be a hoax:
dodgy Amiga Mozilla user agent string (Score:3, Interesting)

(User #28495 Info | http://www.sensibleerection.com/) Somewhat off topic, but I've been getting a charmingly interesting user agent string in my apache logs lately, (which has the magical ability to segfault my stats engine, webalizer).
that string would be:
tSi Mozilla/5_EXPERIMENTAL (AOS4.1 ALPHA; PPC)
Amiga OS 4.1 Alpha? hrm. Is this string fake? 4.1 when 4.0 isn't out yet?

Well, they did implement some things planned for later versions in the first, so AmigaOS might start with 4.1 right away.

Everyones going on about how ugly OS 4.0 is. At WOAse, Ben Hermans stated that they could have made OS 4.0 look like OS X (for example) but it would have broken existing applications.
A new GUI is needed I think, to appeal to new users. OS 4.0 isnt targeted for new users I know. So maybe Hyperion should bring in a new GUI in 4.2 or so, and leave the current GUI available for older applications. Hmm, could potentially be confusing if theres a mix of both GUI's. I dont want to wait until OS 5.0 for a modern GUI, but that seems to be the best way to go about doing it. Your thoughts people?

hope they make them as skins and use XML code to configure the GUI and window buttons then, so the rest of os can keep the feeling and look of Amiga OS.

Alan mentioned at WOASe something about ordering (XMas batch?) two weeks ago...and all those ordered boards are fixed (Articia bug).
Correct me if I'm wrong?

I see Seehund is still trying to push that stupid anti-Amiga licensing petition on Slashdot. Nothing like getting a few clueless people up in arms about nothing... Talk about making Amiga users look fanatical.

Yeah, I can play any PC game I want - I run MacOnLinux on my current hand coded build of a hybrid debian-redhat on a DataGeneral server I dumpster-dived to get from a hospital data center throwaway, and on the Mac side, I run a build of Bochs and I run '98Lite with my pirated copy of a win'98 pre-release beta. Of course, I still don't get "x" axis mouse movement, but it *must* be Windows because Microsoft sucks because they're microsoft and they suck and if you can't code your own LINUX build you shouldn't even be allowed to own a computer so just fuck off and go back to web-TV while I install AT&T UNIX on this Playstation I cobbled together out of five broken playstations I found inside a burned-out warehouse.

If you disagree with a comment made on one site, please post a comment on the site where the "offensive" comment is made. You can explain exactly why arguing for actually being allowed to buy AmigaOS while not giving a flying funk about licensed trademarks on third party computer components is "fanatical" in e.g. this thread: http://slashdot.org/comments.pl?sid=44409&cid=4616117

I didn’t post it on /. as that would have not made my point, which was that posting something along the lines "its not a real Amiga" and once again supplying information on your boycott to completely clueless slashdoters does make it look like Amiga users are fanatical. An analogy would be Apple or better Microsoft X box users posting on a Linux site about the "corporate terrorism" inherent in their licensing procedures (your argument is really an "INHOUSE" debate--it's not like the information is being hidden). I’m not calling your opinion fanatical (even though I’m not in agreement), just the impression that it left on Slahsdot; I do not think that this was better served there (as you read this site); why drown those Linux users in our Amiga friendly semantics.
Sorry if it sounded like a flame (that's why you get a smiley), but as every four year old would say: everyone else flames around here!
