Another mainstream tech website has covered the news on the AmigaOne and it's release here. It's quite well written too.

Now that is a well-written article. The wanna-be journalists in this community
(including me) would do well to read that article and take notes for how we
should write.
This however leaves aside the claim (stated in the article) that OS 4 will be
available "early next year." Perhaps an early beta can be circulated in that
time frame. But the more OS4 proponents push this claim as if a consumer
release will occur, the more they are writing checks that will bounce IMO.

One of the things a good journalist will do is not let his personal biases show. It's not a bad thing to have opinions (even strong ones), but writing things like "the more they are writing checks that will bounce IMO" takes your piece from the realm of news into propaganda. If you want to be taken seriously, before posting something read it pretending you're from the other camp. If nothing annoys you, go ahead and post it. Otherwise tone it down, that way you'll invite less flames and become respected by both sides as someone that's unbiased.

My comment about bounced checks was opinion, not news. Do you understand the
difference? Hint: you can also tell it is opinion because I typed "IMO" which
means "In My Opinion."

PS: I am not unbiased. I am pro-MorphOS.

It's fine that you're pro-morphos, that wasn't my point. I also saw the "IMO" in your post. My point was that there are already enough opinionated people going on about how their preferred solution is obviously superior, both technologically and morally. By your post I got the impression that you were also arguing for less noise, so I just gave you my 2c worth. Sorry if I somehow came across as patronizing or insulting, that was not my intention.

I understood where you were coming from, but... well, no problem! I agree
that any competition should not be about denigrating your competitor but
rather turning in the best performance you yourself can muster. Here is
what Adam Smith said about the matter: "In the race for wealth, and honours,
and preferments [each competitor] may run as hard as he can, and strain
every nerve and every muscle, in order to outstrip all his competition. But
if he should justle, or throw down any of them, the indulgence of the
spectators is entirely at an end. It is a violation of fair play, which
they cannot admit of."
I don't think my comments were at odds with that. I usually don't comment on
