Just love Quake, it has a special "feeling" that not many new games has in multiplayer. Fast yet very controllable. |

New version of Quake : Comment 5 of 15 | ANN.lu |
Posted by Mad-Matt on 25-Nov-2002 22:15 GMT | In reply to Comment 4 (Massimiliano Tretene): cool, Rumour had itthat GLQuakeWOS was updated a fair bit ago to gain a speed advantage from Warp3D 4.2 vertex arrays ?, But didnt appear due to problems making work with voodoo ?
Still, i hope we see the new QuakeGL. Strage at the moment Quake2 being faster then current glquake ;) |

New version of Quake : Comment 7 of 15 | ANN.lu |
Posted by Mirko Naumann on 26-Nov-2002 00:07 GMT | In reply to Comment 4 (Massimiliano Tretene): Would be great!
Do you think you might remove the bug with the flickering Taskbar?
This Problem occurs on Voodoo cards + P96.
Only solution is maxsize=120 percent upto now :(
Nonetheless GLQuakeWOS is really cool!
Greetings |

New version of Quake : Comment 9 of 15 | ANN.lu |
Posted by Massimiliano Tretene on 26-Nov-2002 07:39 GMT | Yes, there are bugs with GLQuakeWOS running on a Voodoo card, they are still there since I don't have a PCI bridge to debug it with this configuration.
But, I've a dev AmigaOne G3-SE just waiting for OS4.0 to come.
Already got a Voodoo3 and a Voodoo5 :-)

New version of Quake : Comment 13 of 15 | ANN.lu |
Posted by Kelly Samel on 27-Nov-2002 07:30 GMT | This new Quake runs faster than ClickBoom
Quake on Amithlon now, reccomended. I
can get ~60 fps in low res modes and
in 640x480 its way over 30, very smooth.
Thanks for the great port...
P.S: This is on a 1Ghz system
with Nvidia Vanta gfx... |

Posted by Alkemyst on 27-Nov-2002 19:12 GMT | In reply to Comment 13 (Kelly Samel): ClickBoom 060 version is still faster than this new version on my
A12000 060/80Mhz & voodoo3 |

New version of Quake : Comment 15 of 15 | ANN.lu |
Posted by Chris Handley on 28-Nov-2002 08:58 GMT | Strangely, on Amithlon using an AGP nVidia GF2Ti & AthlonXP, I found
the ClickBoom Quake to be 1/3 faster than this new version (43fps vs 33fps).
I have not made any speed-optimisations for either version, so your milage may vary!
But since the bugs are fixed, and AHI is supported, it now seems a tough choice
to choose between this & the CB version... |
