I've decided to release this test due to being asked repeatedly if I could modify my OS4 concept GUI skin to use visualprefs and birdie! :) Hope you like it. If you don't know what I'm talking about see here: Amiga.org thread

It looks really nice, like AmigaOS X or someting.
Just one thing; the close gadgets reminds me of an OS I'd rather not be reminded of...

I've understood it so that visual prefs "themes" pretty much work straight away on AOS4... But do they work with MorphOS Amibient(or whatever)?
btw. are they really some theme packages or just bunch of files (patterns and buttons) that need to be set manually via preferences?
(I've not used visual prefs myself, not yet...)

Some might not like them but at least, these are looking sober and professional.
Please 'make' them a 'Visualprefs theme' so that they can be used as straight as possible in OS4.

In reply to Comment 3 (priest):
visual prefs have a config file/preset, so you load the config

In reply to Comment 3 (priest):
Ambient is skinnable, so its not like VP and birdie
Skinnability is more like winamp where you have a bmp picture of all the buttons
and the windows in the same picture, and winamp uses x/y coordinates to load
the induvidual buttons/windows from that picture...with this you can completely change/replace the standard gui from the os.

Someone should use the blue one as default for AmigaOS 4.0, atleast computer magazines would have decent screenshots then.

Perhaps it could be used by the beta testers when demoing OS4 components, atleast?

Just to put it here too:
http://snews.vim.hu/os4grab/os4bg00_800_600_mergedwwindow.png
The window is of course identical, just grabbed the picture and throw it on a "madeinafewspareminutes" background, adjusting it's colors to match the background.
It's a mockup too.

The Gadget Backgrounds and the birdie patterns don't fit together, they are different!
little Bugfix?

In reply to Comment 11 (Jammoricai):
hmm they should line up to a degree.... note this is just a test...as visualprefs etc don't support alpha channels I've had to include a copy of the background with the icons.
catohagen the link works fine for me.
Iggy Drougge there is a choice of close icons in the archive

WOW! It's the natural way to go, the step ahead! I would buy such a system even if I hadn't had an Amiga before! :)
It keeps the tie with past systems but takes them a step further! It doesn't pretend to copy, but yet applies the same principles used on other platforms... I definitively would like to have such look present on OS4, and you!?
