BlitzQuake v1.0 (my ports GLquake and GLqwcl for 68K and WarpOS) will be on aminet within the next few days. Hello,

I have accidentally uploaded a beta version of BlitzQuake (beta5 rc1).
The Quakeworld client (GLqwcl) is seriously bugged - please wait for the fixed archives (v1.0) which I have uploaded today.
It will probably be available tomorrow or the day after tomorrow.

Have fun with it !

For screenshots, see www.amiga-mediator.co.uk

Regards,
Christian Michael

beta5 rc1:
PowerPC Data access exception (load operation)
Memory protection violation - Access to 000000CE
Seems that this update is badly needed, indeed. :)

In reply to Comment 1 (Piru):
v1.0 which I uploaded today has no such problems.
Sorry for the inconvenience, but I mentioned the problem with glqwclWOS in the readme - you wouldn't have had to run it.
<P>

I get the same problem with the GlQuakeWOS version (the non QW version). Seems it
works on voodoo systems but not Bvision from what I can gather...

I have exactly the same problem on my BPPC/Vbision. Hope this update fixes the problem (WOS version).

I get nothing at all when double clicking on the GLQuake icon. Any
ideas as to what could be wrong? I have a Voodoo3 via Mediator.

nothing at all? not even a screen opened or a console open?, have you tried to snoopdos it?
are you sure you have Quake1 installed properly? is W3D installed? etc

In reply to Comment 10 (Paul Laycock):
Have you made an assign for quakedir: ?
The icon simply executes a script that invokes glquakeWOS from quakedir:
You should copy glquakeWOS_blitz to your quake directory ane assign quakedir: to this directory.
The icon can be put anywhere you like.

I get WOS crash also when runing. 68k is fine, although i did experince an odd reset loop when ire e setted after using it.
However with wos version i get a memory protection violation and according to snoopdos its happening after audio.library is called.
Im also on blizzppc+Bvision.

Probably not.
I can only tell that all of the executacles in v1.0 are stable on my system(s) : (603e/240/25 or Blizzard1260/66 + mediator/voodoo3)
Sources are included with the upload. If someone finds bugs in v1.0 sources, please let me know.

Well, as far as I know, the Hyperion team hasn't got the ability to see the
future, Amithlon came almost 2 years after H2.
