A German computer news site has published a report (in German) on the ARC show in Aachen. It's very basic but describes Genesi's strong presence, the Amiga Ones running Linux, and the Commodore One. I don't have permission to translate and republish this Heise Online article, but here are representative clips to give you an idea:

Amiga fans are used to waiting, so it didn't bother them when the Amiga plus Retro Computing 2002 convention opened a half hour later than scheduled. Because in the hall was what the Amiga Community had been awaiting for years: new hardware.

After a nine month delay, the Genesi consortium presented the computer Pegasos, including a PPC-based OS by the name of MorphOS, on which Amiga programs run.

The AmigaOne hardware has been deliverable since recently, however we are still waiting for the new Amiga OS. So there were two AmigaOne samples, each running LinuxPPC. On the other hand no less than 30 Pegasoses greeted the visitors, who were free to conduct hands-on testing on each.

[The article goes on to give a little background on the politics of the situation, stating that Thendic-France recently raised some questions about flaws in the AmigaOne hardware, and relating Alan (Eyetech) Redhouse's memorable profane response.]

Outside of the Amiga market, there was one thought-provoking new introduction. Inventor Jeri Ellsworth showed her new Commodore One, an unofficial sequel to the C-64, mixing in characteristics of a breadbox with modern hardware connections. The mainboard should be available at the beginning of next year for around $200.

"you're spreading FUD again!"
"Bulletin Hit!"
