(Source: Amigart.com) "Ross Vumbaca has compiled MacOnLinux for Amigaone.
"You can download it from: mol-amigaone-0.96.7.deb
What is the file? The file is a Debian package of Mac On Linux + kernel modules, for people running Linux on their AmigaOne machines.
Why use this package? This is a very recent version of Mac On Linux, which works on the AmigaOne's non-OpenFirmware firmware." P.S.: You will need Ross Vumbaca's Linux ppc kernel and kernel modules from http://amigaone-linux.sourceforge.net
This version of MOL is only tested on AmigaOnes with Voodoo3 boards. There may be some problems with Radeon boards...Also you need to use Debian distro on A1"

IIRC the MOL team are working on it. ..

Excuse me but coz here everyone told in past dayz about "false news" ... MOL runs on both PEGASOS and Terox board by months for now ... simply it run under any decent (recent) Linux distribution that boots on Articia based Mobo ...

It seems that it needed modification cause PPCBoot is not really OF.

vmlinux.gz
I checked 'em out, but it's just BINARIES???? Where's the source? Where's the GPL notice? It's 2.4.19, but what's been done to it? Where are the patches to apply to the "vanilla" kernel and modules? Where are the release notes? The changelog? When will this be included in Linus' kernel? If this is an improvement over Gall's POP and Teron patches, get it out there ASAP for peer review and give/get some contributions.
And BTW, why "amigaone-linux", since it runs on any Teron board regardless of distributor?

I'd assume it's a matter of converting the PPCBoot (or Linux kernel) device-detections into an 'emulated' OF device tree, instead of just reading them 'straight.' Anyone know if that's what the kernel module is used for?

You know we are taking about tow different products right,
AmigaOS 4.0 and MorphOS are not THE SAME OS!!!
AmigaOne and Pegasus are NOT THE SAME HARDWARE!!

whoa! either learn to control yourself my anonymous
poster.....or learn to read about projects..or stop
being anal. one of those please.
the main project page on sf.net clearly answers your 'issues'
http://sourceforge.net/projects/amigaone-linux/
ie news item
http://sourceforge.net/forum/forum.php?forum_id=233930
sourceforge CVS is very easy to use...so if you want a copy
of the source...use it.
As for changes...well, if the OF doesnt quite work, then the simple
NULL redirect replier that i added to MOL for APUS usage
should do the trick .... but MOL doesnt work on APUS yet still
because of the strange memory/vector alignments that Amiga's
and APUS have in common. that, coupled with no other people
working on it and me being busy...what with changing jobs,
moving halfway across the country and having 2 HD's die on me
has really put a dampner on work being done when my Amiga
decides to work :-|

Thanks, Alan!
I thought it was odd though to only show two binary archives in the root dir of projectname.sf.net, whereas most other projects place their project main page there.
So, co'ing and grepping the CVS tree, all I found relating to Teron boards was this, in INFO:
"This is the debian 2.4.19 unstable with:
- patched with the frieden's patch (AmigaOne support)
[snip]
- with adam's usb patch, and adam's amigaone_pci patch (ioremap, base of pci i/o, irq 0 for usb)"
Uh, so what and where are those patches (especially the elusive patch providing "AmigaOne support") and their docs/changelogs? Or are people expected to get Debian's original kernel tree and run a diff on that?
The SF project has no "Files", "Patches" or "Docs" released, BTW.

...I agree that the project isnt correctly setup as per the usual
SF,net projects. the files should be in the files release
(even though they have files they are classed as not releasing anything!)
perhaps i should volunteer to tidy it up?
as for the changes. not well documented...and yes, a diff against
the main tree would give you the required answers.

In reply to Comment 13 (alan buxey):
Sorry about sourceforge not being neat, but I only set it up a few days ago, and I do actually have a life e.g WORK, so there hasn't been much time.
Besides, the main purpose of it at the moment is to provide CVS access to developers, the work is not complete, so I see no need for a "release", though I considered it. A release will be made when it is more "releasable".
The CVS tree is there as has been pointed out, if you want to see the differences then yes you'd need to diff the cvs tree against the original tree.
Just grab the tar file.
Developers are working off what has now become the CVS tree, so no one really needs a diff at the moment, that can be placed up soon.
Regarding Mac On Linux - the package is a "one off". It was created because the AmigaOne does not use OF, and so it required a _very_ recent version of MOL (which emulates OF now). There were no packages of the most recent versions, so I made one for AmigaOne users. Once the 'official' packages catch up, there will be no need for my package. The only thing I did to the source for the AmigaOne, was to return a null on an OF call in one of the kernel modules (find_root_device() IIRC).
Ross..

APUS also has this call ;-)
hmmm, i'd suggest we have a simple addition to the main PPC linux
kernel core to fix this centrally
