I spotted a movieclip on the Pegasos-USA site: Making April (12MB Quicktime Format). And that is exactly what it shows; a robot manufacturing an April.
Nothing special at all really, but I thought I could allways mention it ...

Just asking so don't turn this into some flamefest.

Well, I agree with this NeRP fellow. I mean, even though he may seem like he's trolling a little, he's still got a point. There seems to be an open bias against Amiga or Amiga OS. I found it a bit odd that this mrphOS stuff is practically front page news while the AmigaOne news was shoved all the way to the back (so to speak).
I mean, it's as if people are hated for liking a certain type of computer. Why? This is my just my rant, I could be wrong.

NeRP, you are of course entitled to that opinion, and to express it whenever and wherever possible, regardless of the "facts" presented nbyn the self-appointed "moderators" or "owners" of this site, and regardless of the relevance to the threads in qwhich you post.
You are clearly a man of principle, and as such you must be prepared to stand up and be counted. Show these mercenary lackeys of Genesi that you cannot and will not be censored nor manipulated by them.
To show the absolute rightness of your cause, you must deprive the ANN readers of your balanced opinions and carefull-considered analyses. Vote with your feet, and show these people that you, at least, cannot be silenced.
You will be missed, but it is a price I, for one, am willing to pay.

That is so wrong. The NeRP guy used swear words. That is not allowed (for obvious reasons). The other comments (in a rather rude tone) is still there. No die hard censorship. It's just CK's "obligation", as a responsible publisher of this site, to keep it clean.
There is no obvious anti-amiga bias whatsoever. I really think that is clear to everyone here (except some wierdos, trying to make an agenda that doesn't exist). Those kind of accusations are just plain silly. It isn't CK's fault that users posts more news about the Pegasos and MorphOS than A1 and OS4. Perhaps it's no ones fault, except Hyperion and Eyetech. I mean, there HAVE NOT been THAT many news from those lately!
CK is doing a grate job, both in quantity and quality. Show a little gratitude!

I think the problem is not the reporting of the MorphOs news, but its dominance. Where might it lead? Well AtheOS is very "Amiga like" and you can run Amiga 68k programs on Windows, etc. Some news on MorphOS is nice and all, but when it is disproportionate to its actual presence in the real world (outside these forums) it can seem frivolous. I understand that the fact that they are targeting (marketing to) Amiga users excites some people—since we’ve been starving for attention, but do we really need a run down of each company that is a reseller?

That's even more bullsh!t. If you want amiga news, then post them yourself. Posting news items (or other items as well) is very much up to the users. The reasons of the missing news about A1 and OS4 is that THERE IS NO NEWS TO POST. But at the same time there are lots of news regarding the Pegasos and MorphOS. The Pegasos and MorphOS is released, A1+OS4 is not. That is obviously not CK's fault!

What? Compared to OS4? Get a grip over the reality then! And when you are finnished doing that, get down to business and start posting some of all the available news items (regarding AmigaInc, AmigaOne, Eyetech, OS4, Hyperion and so on) that is being hidden away by the evil CK.

Sure there is, it just never makes it to the front page. Yet a news item along the lines of "Bill Buck drank coffee today!!!!!!!" makes the front page. Open your eyes grandma. Like I said, CK has every right to moderate the way he feels but don't make it out to something it isnt.

You missed my point entirely. My comment was about relevance, balance, and Pandoras box. :-) Not about the chap who runs the place. I’m sure he’s a nice guy. I probably could find lots of Windows news that relates in some way to the Amiga (based on features, look, old Amiga programmers, ports, UAE, Amiga datatypes etc.)—but if such news wasn’t balanced, it would start to grate. Anyway, I’m not saying we’ve crossed the threshold into complete irrelevancy. BTW: you seem wound up today.

Well, I was just making a report on what I felt was the sitution. I mean, I might even be wrong, but it seems like there are a lot of hostile people towards Amiga on this thread. I won't name names, because I'm a buttercorn, not a butthorn. :) But, you bad people know who you are. tsk tsk.
As for this mphOS or whatever it's called, I've honestly never seen it. I mean I've seen the links to the sites and what not... but I've never bothered to follow them. If it doesn't say AmigaOS, I'm just plainly not interested.
Maybe I'm just an old little buttercorn who's used to a joyful Amiga... but I got some hope in this here AmigaOne thingamajig and I was kinda hoping you would too.
You might like this mrphOS stuff, well good, everyone should play with a toy for a while. As for me, I'm a bit older and go for more mature things... I heard AmigaOS 4.0 is going to be quite a mature OS when it's released.... maybe when it comes out you can put the toy away and jump in with the rest of us?
As for bad language. I hate to be a tattle tale, but I saw on another thread where some fellow named: Darklite used a mean word and that wasn't ever edited. Then again, the mods here are human and they probably make mistakes and simply missed it.
I hope you all get an AmigaOne and then we can all live in peace. ;)

Well then, what's stopping you? Start posting the news! If it is of any relevance, then I am sure it will make it to the "front page". It *allways* does! No one is holding anything back, and if you are missing news items then it is because nobody is posting any.
The original post in this thread is NOT moderated as news. The post is about links to places on the web (it was news to me, but that doesn't matter). The post you are referring to was at the same low level, in fact it was even lower, because it didn't even contain any links and couldn't be moderated as web resources! Now it has been raised to news, and CK even added the relevant link, but you are still b!tching!

I was about to log off and get some much needed rest. But I couldn't help but to notice this here young'un saying what appeared to be a swear word at the end of his posting there. While it did contain an "!" instead of an "i" I still consider that swearing.
He also did it before in comment #24. Now, it may not techincally be swearing, but it's something I would give him a spanking for if he said it at the dinner table. That other fellow, NeRP, was admonished pretty good and was made to feel badly. Why can't this fellow be punished and have his swear words taken off.
Now, maybe it wasn't exactly spelled perfectly, but's plainly obvious to me as a red hen that he meant to cheat the system here and get away with something. Maybe those moderators here will see him and snatch him up... give him a good scolding.

I don't really mind a swearword every now and then if there's enough valuable content to make up for it. If someone posts a one-liner devoid of any thought, and manages to fit in not just one but two or three swearwords in there for no good reason whatsoever, then a line is definitely crossed.
In other words: if your sentence contains more swearwords than normal words it gets moderated. If you have a valid point but use some coarse language, you might get away with that. If you insult someone in a very bad way, your post is removed. If you make any racial, or otherwise discriminative statement, or post illegal content, your post is removed straight away with no questions asked.
Note that the lines between a valid posting and an invalid one are pretty vague. I'm a human being, so one day I might be more tolerant than another, and often I'm also considering a person's past behaviour.

I can’t believe you are responding to my comment. I never said anything about something frightening me. Migration. If one wants to flock elsewhere fine. I have integrated several operating systems into my environment. My objection had nothing to do with that, and everything to do with relevancy and balance on an Amiga site. People seem to feel that they have to buy into any marketing buzz that surrounds a product catering to Amiga users. The same thing happened with REBOL; something comes around made by ex Amiga users and of course it is going to interest the people who read ANN, but it needs to be used proportionally to actual Amiga news.
The rest of your comments are even further removed form anything I have posted.
>Amiga is not Jesus! This should not be a religion! Now come back to earth and enjoy.
Exactly; I think you commented on the wrong post, but anyway, I certainly don’t hero worship the Amiga. This is concisely the reason I have no immediate interest in yet another no-name OS that happens to run Amiga 68k programs and has some fancy 24bit icons. If I had more money to burn, then I could be more risky. Don't asume what my position is on things I never stated.

Hey Christian, I just wanted to say that just because you left NeRP's subsequent postings does not prove that you are impartial. You are not establishing credability in my eyes by saying "I left his other messages, that means that I'm not biased!" Clearly, with the volume of MorphOS news that makes the front page, while Amiga news makes the unmoderated section only, I firmly believe that you are catering to your MorphOS and PegaSOS advertisers more than to the Amiga Community. MorphOS may be paying your bills, but MorphOS is not the Amiga. Pegasos is not the Amiga. The AmigaONE is the Amiga, all Amiga news items belong on the FRONT PAGE, not in the unmoderated section. This is an Amiga news page, isn't it? The Morphos people must really be tonguedarting your ass, or paying off your Focus for you, or something. (By the way, a real man would have bought something with at least a V6).
