As I got some mails from people saying that they won't buy Hollywood because I'm supporting MorphOS I have to clarify that there will be AmigaOS 4 version of Hollywood of course. But before this can happen, I need a developer version of AmigaOS4 and because such a version does not seem to be available currently, I cannot do anything yet. But there will be definitely an AmigaOS4 version of Hollywood (if it is API compatible to the classic AmigaOS). So, don't panic and don't send me any more of such threatening letters. It's really astonishing how serious this topic seems to be to some people. Additionally the update to the AmigaOS4 version of Hollywood will be free of charge too (as the update to the MorphOS version was). So if you are interested in Hollywood, you can also buy the program now and get the update for free when AmigaOS 4 is finally available.

Threatening to not buy Hollywood if no AmigaOS4 version is available? Doesnt sound that serious to me but it depends on the choice of words in those letters ...

Anyway ... those letters could be from both sides, there are probably some that dont realize that "threats" rather harm than help and there are some that _do_ realize it but want exactly that. *shrug* Bad world.

Hyperion, H&P and others, as well as the community have been poking Amiga Inc.
to do a PPC native AmigaOS for a long time, but they weren't convinced until
"someone" presented MorphOS to Fleecy.
This someone is in the AmigaOS4 team right now, guess who he is...

Seems the VIP MOS guys were too stupid (or whatever) to show themselves their VIP OS to fleecy.

I call that missed opportunities.

A real pity.

Which simply raises the question what thendic wanted that couldnt been agreed with. Complete control over a future AmigaOS? Using all IP without paying anything? Single hardware exclusivly from bplan?

You wouldn't say that if you knew who that "someone" is. He's an OS4 developer
that also codes some stuff for MorphOS. Hint: His nick is Bigfoot's last name.

Actually Amiga Inc asked for stuff the MorphOS team could not agree with.
Dumping CGX in favour of a P96/CGX hybrid and other such staff that would
stall the release of an almost ready, for what Amiga Inc wanted, OS.
And Amiga Inc also did some stuff like changing the money sum they asked
every now and then.
Amiga Inc also demanded that the MorphOS development should be done by
a seperate legal entity, not bPlan. Of course bPlan wasn't about to break
up their company for Amiga Inc...

Anyway, that is the past. Now there's an OS out and another one in development.
We'll see how things will envolve in the future.

BPlan have understood the market. They deliver a mobo with firewire. "Any" OS will run on their hardware. Besides they have the money to develop such a mobo. They are clever people and I wish them the best for the future. The Pega is the second compatible Amiga.

Thats still not replying to my question.

Just cos they thought of Aos4 PPC after seeing MOS that does not mean they have to use MOS logo as a background.

You wont see MicroSoft putting the logos of the other consoles anyware on the Xbox screen,
cos MicroSoft only thought of making consoles after seeing the other consoles in action.

And you wont see the Top gfx card makers putting the logos of the other gfx card makers on anything.
cos of upping there own specs for there next gfx card only cos of seeing the other gfx cards makers specs.

With only about 50 boards available, as someone told me, and still around 200 boards due for exchange to betatesters and who knows how many boards due to exchange for linux lamers, I guess it will get January/February at best.

It is of course not impossible they find another bug (for excuse to not deliver, because MOS won't be ready for the next 6 months) that delays the Pegasos again several Months.

This assumes a level playing field similar to the Linux market. But as soon as either system introduces a level of incompatibility competition will lead to chaos.

Incredible! At first I thought he was parodying a braindead zealot, and it would have been a funny (but almost TOO absurd) parody. The horribly sad thing is that he's apparently serious. He really "thinks" that way - and I'm afraid there are others who use the same fscked up "reasoning".

Unfortunately the loud incoherent bleating from total idiots like "createcoms" et al always tends to rise above the noise of the normal discussion among sensible people.
