ScummVM 0.3.0b for Amiga68k released : Comment 2 of 7 | ANN.lu |
Posted by nogfx on 25-Dec-2002 09:03 GMT | Hi,
About AGA Support in ScummVM:
I have spent a lot of time making this Amiga68k version of ScummVM...
The bigger problem not being porting the MorphOS code (only
small parts of the code differs such as the threads,...) but locating
and fixing GCC/Ixemul bugs...
The second problem was to find people to beta test it under a real
Amiga68k to see if it worked and was fast-enough...
As a result of such hard work, I received TWO mails (no more, no less)
from people only COMPLAINING about dropped AGA support.
=> It seems that very few people are interested in ScummVM on Amiga68k
(maybe because almost everybody also owns a PC...) so I'm wondering
if it was really worth the effort...
So yes, AGA support could be implemented again but I really doubt it would
worth the effort especially considering it would be SLOW (especially
with MIDI music enabled) and... are they so many people still using AGA ?
Regards,
Nogfx. |

Most of them have AGA+16MB (because of no money) but an 060 cpu, which is quite some contradiction in terms (if you ask me). |

ScummVM 0.3.0b for Amiga68k released : Comment 6 of 7 | ANN.lu |
Posted by Iggy Drougge on 26-Dec-2002 14:45 GMT | Couldn't care much about AGA support, especially since most SCUMM games are already available in native Amiga versions.
I applaud the release of a 68k version, though. I must be one of few "Amiga" owners without a PC, though. |

Posted by Kulwant Bhogal on 29-Dec-2002 12:50 GMT | In reply to Comment 6 (Iggy Drougge): I haven't got a PC. The only things that make me want a PC are being able to browse websites IBrowse can't handle and Unreal Tournament 2003 online. |
