PressPass: What are some of the reasons your companies have invested in developing products for Windows Powered devices?
McEwen (Amiga) : We found that Microsoft is great to work with. It was very easy for us to explain what we wanted to do and quickly get their support. The products themselves are excellent devices. There's a lot of power to them; you don't have to wait for things to happen. The color is amazing.
Satire:
Bill McEwen gleefully rubs his hands together thinkin 'money money money' while showing off Pocket Games Pak "YEEEEEEEEEEEEEHAW... The color is amazing!!!"

Usual marketing talk.
As far as Im concerned, extract as much money out of the windows market as possible, it can only benefit ADE and AOS.

I second that.
"McEwen (Amiga) : Amiga has a rich history in video and film work, and some of the other titles we have coming out in the next 90 days will allow user to manipulate video on their Windows Powered devices. Basically, you can take pictures on a digital camera, take that content and plug it in your Pocket PC and use that as your editor. You don't have to wait until you get home to your desktop PC to begin enjoying your photos."
Sounds like a more interesting application. Not that pocketpc games aren't a good thing, but...

Well, AmigaInc has chosen their path. I am glad they are doing allright, whatever they are doing in their corner of the world. I guess there is some dollars in Pocket PC games, allthough it will be difficult to compete with the defacto standard JAVA on the mobile devices market. But I guess that going to bed with Micro$oft might pay off in one way or another ...

McEwen in this "interview": "Amiga has over 3,000 developers creating content."
According to this 11th Jul 2002 post by Gary Peake
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/amigaone/message/18641
"There are over 3000 devlopers who came to amigadev.net and signed themselves up."
I find it hard to believe, based on this, that the 3000 number is actually people creating content, but just people that have signed up? If that is the case, then what McEwen said is mistaken?

The Intent engine is interesting technology. Maybe M$ can do more with it than the company they are gonna steal it from.

But that leaves this flight simulator -game or whatever it is and knowing how accurate McEwen can be... It can be about an

Good work Amiga Inc! It's about time you got some revenue creating product out the door!!
Now do something about getting teeshirts to the coupon holders along with an apologe for the delay. Do this and the MOS scumbags will have nothing to whine about(in theory at least).

I got the impression that that "flying simulation" was indeed Planet Zed. The piece talks of four games and I can count four: Planet Zed, Blobula, Crossword Evolution and Solitaire. Or...? Agreeably Planet Zed is NOT a flying simulation, but Bill McEwen has been liberal in his statements before...

This is just too much.

I remember when McEwen started up how happy I was....and it's come to this. Pocket PeeCee games.
Well...I hope it works out for him. Any chance they'll release the source code to Amiga OS?

Why Amiga Inc. doesn't want to tell Amigans about their AmigaDE projects? I don't always have a time to search Microsoft site for Amiga related news...
