Not news per se (Dec. 12, '02), but maybe interesting for the "Feature List Fanatics". ;-) The MorphOS feature list was updated to v. 1.2, and I haven't seen it mentioned here (sorry if I missed it). As I don't have the previous one to run a diff, was there anything important/interesting updated?

The only "big" change was that there is now a description of "Disk Wizard"
included IIRC.

In reply to Comment 1 (David Scheibler):
I think the floppy drive support is still missing from the to-do/in development list (at least it was not working a short while ago).

Also there still is "OS components" in the TOC, but there is no heading like that in the document. There is "A-BOX components", in place of it, though (and currently it seems to be the same thing).

Those are mainly cosmetic things, but anyway.

I'm still waiting for the first full blown review to appear.

(Some user that received his pegasos a few days ago said that it was not as full blown OS as AmigaOS3.9 is, not sure what he meant exactly, but I really hope all the "ready" features of that featurelist really exist in the version that is being delivered, otherwise it would be a betrayal (yep we Amigans are familiar with those).)

In reply to Comment 2 (priest):
and that was not meant to be a reply to comment 1, but a comment to the featurelist itself.

Part one of two of a "full blown review" is in AmigaFuture #40. It's in German
though.

In reply to Comment 4 (David Scheibler):
Would it possible to scan those two pages
and maybe upload to Aminet? Then again, there
might be copyright issues to think about...

In reply to Comment 2 (priest):
I can really live without floppy-support, I just have to find a suitable SCSI-card
for my ZIP....

"not a full-blown OS like 3.9" ?

O.k. you don't get all those addons like AmiDock, Unarc and so on, but it is a full blown OS
in the way that you can really use it for everyday work.

> "Feature List Fanatics".

What like people that like to know what is in the box before they buy it? Like everyone that buys a CD player, a DVD ROM or a Washing Machine? Shame on them.

Hello,

> What like people that like to know what is in the box before they buy it? Like everyone that buys a CD > player, a DVD ROM or a Washing Machine? Shame on them

Personnaly I don't use feature lists for that. I prefer a lot asking the reseller directly what he'll sell me.
Why? Because it's more reliable as the reseller may make some special offer or things like that and this way I really know what I'll get.

Regards

More comments:

- the featurelist should be explained "in more words", there is a lot of things that Joe Average does not understand. (look at the AOS4 list, some things are better explained there)

"I've got one question: Is morphos (final 1.0 realease) already shipping? Because I'm one of those lucky guy who has got a Pegasos board but unfortunately with a developper realease of Morphos. My dealer still seems to be testing beta version of Moprhos. In this case when should we get the Final realease."

IMO: It makes the featurelist pretty useless...
