I have found a mouse on eBay that has been signed by Jay Miner on the same day of the Amiga fare 1989 in Cologne that my private A1000 has been signed.

Fantastic! I would bid on that but it says "Versand nur nach Deutschland." and I am in the UK :-(

BTW, Is your A1000 for sale also?

How does anyone know that signature is genuine?

The signature looks exactly like the signature on my A1000, so I'd say it's genuine. As far as bidding from UK is concerned, I'd just write to the seller. I bet he just does not want the hassle of international money transfers. I have some experience with it, and I can see that 1,- EUR more is not really worth all the effort, especially with banking cost usually eating up lots of the amount of the auction.

I've bid 10,- EUR on it, but it's gone beyond that point, and now I'm just curious to see how much it's really worth.

My A1000 will not be for sale in the near future. I have thought about selling my "Boing mobile", a 1989 GMC Jimmy 4x4, red with a white boingball on the hood and some nice modifications, but I could not find adequate replacement for it yet.

Hmm, when I come to think about it, I actually have a signed monitor, a signed keyboard, a signed mose pad and a signed A1200 that I could be willing to part from. Anyone? Did I hear €1000?

;-)

Is the bible signed by God himself - Ralph Schmidt? :-)

That mouse does not seem original from A1000 time. Even if the picture quality is not the best, I think remembering that the colour was more yellowish.

That's an original A1000 mouse.... Look at the connector. They started putting normal connectors on them for the A500/2000.... Too bad I'm in the US, or I'd toss a bid on it... It's pretty cool.

So whats to stop someone opening up the case of their A1000 and copying the
signature with a big felt tip pen onto random computing equipment as signed
artifacts?

Hm, dunno. What stops me from faking old coins that have 52 b.c. stamped on them?

Self-respect? Decency? Noy having a coin-pressing machine handy? :)

Credibility as a counterfeiter?
Tell me, which pre-Christian coin issuer knew that the year they lived in would be known as "52 B.C." a number of centuries later? :-)

Composition for one thing. The two are not comparable in the extreme and as
someone else pointed out stamping something as 52BC would take a crystal ball.
