What wheel-mouse are you talking about? Did i miss something?
My wheel-mouse is working pretty good with IB, even though i`m
usually surfing the web with V³. Do the wheels only work in the
demo? :^)

Since when did Voyager or Aweb be able to print a postscript version of a page? IMO iBrowse printing is miles ahead of both AWeb and Voyager, I can't even remember ever being able to print at all with Voyager.

As for the mouse-scroll, isn't that an MUI issue? If it works with Voyager scrollbars, it should work with iBrowse scrollbars surely.

Hmmm, "all 3 Amiga web browsers are developed by a single
programmer or a small company". - Is there only one programmer
working on AWeb 3.4 APL ?

Speed test: We think IBrowse is a bit faster. - Why no benchmarks ?

Cons: Some rendering errors. - Shouldn't you just compare against
the available web browsers ? According to the review IB was the better
renderer.

Not the best review I have ever read.

Voyager 3.2 prints a scren dump. You do get the whole width of the
page but the quality is poor and it will not print the whole of a long
page. Voyager 3.3 has printing disabled.

IBrowse prints very nicely to a Postscript printer except for one big
problem: the print out is too big, so you only get about 2/3 of the
web page width on A4 paper. A3 would probably be OK, and scaling is
promised for IBrowse 3. (Internet Explorer has the same problem on
some pages, IBrowse has it on most pages.)

It was a review of a review.

If you send me a copy of IB2.3 I will gladly write a review.

In reply to Comment 1 (Ingo^AZ):
Well we tested IBrowse on an Amiga with the Topolino III, a Logitech Cordless Mouse and Freewheel. Voyager and AWeb both scroll on the same Amiga but IBrowse cannot. If someone can tell us how to get the scrolling working the review will be altered.

The Postscript Printing is an interesting point that will be looked into. Someone want to tell us how to get this working with Ghostscript and a non-PS printer? Thanks....

KOAN: yes we know that AWEb 3.4 APL is developed by an Opensource team but the review was comparing AWEB 3.4UFO, Voyager 3.3.126 and IBrowse 2.3

We bought IBrowse from IOSpirit.de - you could do the same

Or alternatively download the demo for free.

In reply to Comment 7 (SWAUG):
Mouse wheel scrolling in IBrowse works for me (with a USB wheel mouse and Poseidon) I think you probably need MUIWheelPatch (http://www.aminet.net/util/mouse/MuiWheel14.lha) installed. The only limitation I've found is that it only works on the first tab if you have several browser tabs open. This has been reported on the IB mailing list.

Postscript printing works pretty well with GhostScript although it doesn't print colour. There are some instructions on how to set it up and install the required fonts on Aminet:

http://www.aminet.net/docs/help/IBrowse2Print.txt

In the print window you need to set the destination to "Custom" and enter "PS:" as the path (that's from memory but it should be fairly obvious).

RE: hsbc

It shows how much money you don't have in both accounts, but when you want list of transactions the site tries

javascript:submitform('account number','ib')

Which does not do anything here

Carried on testing.

This means that we still can't do internet banking, ie checking details, paying bills, moving funds between accounts etc.

Still massive improvement to at least be able to check balances.

IBrowse will allow the following on HSBC's website:

viewing balances
viewing transactions & history
transfer money between own accounts
view/delete standing orders & direct debits
Applying for a loan (+ loan calculator)

The only thing that doesn't work is
Make a payment

Everything else we have got to work.

Regards.

with the line

dh1:internet/ibrowse/ibrowse

clicking on the icon and hsbc works as you described :)

Better to just use a Postscript laser printer. Much more useful than
an inkjet.

Since upgrading to the latest IB, I haven't
had need to AWeb or Voyager. I have legal
versions of IB & AW and a demo V.

I've always preferred IB but use whichever
one works. I'm glad to see IB's continued
development.

The Javascript seems to be 99% perfect, best on the Amiga so far.

One thing that improves the look of many pages - go to Settings ->
HTML and change the Shadow colour from black to grey. It gives a more
subtle look.

The only limitation I've found is that it only works on the first tab if you have several browser tabs open. This has been reported on the IB mailing list.

Scrolling will work on other tabs if you uncheck the `use muiwheel` option in freewheel, though it`s somewhat slower than normal.

The problem is caused by a bug in MUI Wheel . MUI 3.9 has wheel scrolling built in and works perfectly (according to those who have it).

I read that FreeWheel worked but I've had some problems with it on my system and prefer the speed of MUIWheel in other apps so I decided to put up with the limitations in IBrowse.

Roll on MUI 3.9 :)
