http://www.morphzone.org is a new site for the MorphOS using part of the Amiga community. While the site isn't completely finished, the forums are now open. Come on down, pay us a visit! MorphZone Opens!

MorphZone (http://www.morphzone.org) is the new community portal for MorphOS users; including the MWD (Morph Web Directory), in-depth articles, forums, reviews, and more! MorphZone membership is free, as our services are geared to help cultivate the MorphOS community towards the future.

While many sections of MorphZone are currently under construction, the staff and moderaters have deemed that we can announce the opening of our forums. Beyond the expected forums, MorphZone's forums include several private forums, including forums for "the scene" and "Phoenix." There is also a special forum called "Generator," which will see special posts from people associated with Genesi to answer user's questions (these times will usually be announced a week or so in advance).

Soon, MorphZone will have an Ambient/Desktop contest, with the winners receiving a prize and their screen-grab will be published on several "partner" sites. Registered users can also adjust the look of MorphZone by selecting a different theme in their user-profile. These themes will allow MorphZone members to adjust the look and feel of MorphZone according to the browser that they are using at the time. MorphZone also maintains a news-feed from MorphOS-News.de to help keep pace with the world around us (thanks www.morphos-news.de). MorphZone.org promises to be a leap forward for the MorphOS community.

Finally, MorphZone wouldn't have been possible without the help of many friends, associates, and the community itself. The webmasters of MorphZone would like to thank the following people, institutions, and groups: Wayne Hunt (Amiga.org), Bill Buck, Raquel Valesco, MorphOS-News.de, VaporWare, #MorphOS on ARCNet, Jobbo, Phoenix, Hooligan, and many others.

Sincerely,
Targhan

I just get a blank page? Anyway this site sounds like a
great idea, kind of a return of "Amiga Web Directory"
only for MorphOS users. :)

Works just fine. I'd change the logo.. looks too 80s.. not that there is nothing wrong in eightees. I once had the famous hairstyle with 120kg of hair :)

Well, now it's working ok, strange. Anyway looks
cool, but I agree that a new logo might be nice.
Just the lettering, the little hill and butterfly
looks nice. Good site though.

There are forums.. just point your browser to morphzone and off you go. I have no objections against critising Eyetech there, IF its done with good taste and with a cause. This is free world and we have freedom of speech, but please, don't use the word "amith*on", as that may get us in to BIIG trouble. *g*

Great! I love criticising Eyetech - its so much easier than doing something constructive. I will spend this afternoon making up some amusing derogatory names to call Alan ;)

btw Will there be a separate forum for Ben Hermans name-calling or do we just use the same one?

There should also be a "gallery" page where you can upload funny pictures of Hyperion developers that you've drawn in Art Effect.

@brotheris

The default theme has been patched by Targhan to be displayed
correctly in Amiga-browsers; so if you're visting the Morphzone with
an alien browser, better choose a different theme in your profile.

As much as I hate feeding trolls, I'm curious to know if there is a reason behind your childish outburst, or whether (as I suspect) you are just a complete arse?

Having dealt with them many times in the past, I have always found them to be friendly, helpful, and really good with after-sales support.

There are more constructive ways of criticism.

In reply to Comment 14 (Peter Gordon):
Eyetech's customer service has always been fantastic whenever I've dealt with them.

When I first came back to Amiga I had bought a second-hand Eyetech tower and had problems getting it to work and, even though I hadn't even bought the tower from them, they answered all my questions and helped get my system up and running.

When I wanted to connect a CDTV keyboard up to my A1200T they emailed me a diagram showing which pins went where so that I could make a suitable connector.

When my G-Rex killed my A1200 motherboard they went out of their way to dig up a new A1200 and send it so that it would arrive the next day even though I didnt call them until late afternoon on a Friday.

In fact I have never dealt with a more customer-friendly company than Eyetech.

Most companies in the Amiga market will just take your money and run. Not Eyetech - they go out of their way to make sure you are satisfied.

>>shame about that "not an eyetech fan" idiot.

Perhaps he's the same guy that showed up on Amiga.org a few months back claiming that Eyetech had ripped him off over a certain product... until Eyetech posted that they had no record of him and had NEVER even sold that product. Then he suddenly went quiet....

Of course, there's more than one a-hole in this world...

..the main problem is, that if this idiot continues

moderated forums and login systems. currently its nice and
open.

he's simply abusing the current lack of abuse controls :-|

I think every AmigaOS/Hyperion/AmigaINC fan and user should run over to morphzone forums and start posting information and news about OS4.0 as well as AmigaOne info.

Yes... I think that would be the thing to do.

Just my opinion.

Of all the Amiga companies I've dealt with I consider Eyetech to be one of the very few trustable ones along with power. I've got one of the very first ez-towers , and altho its slowing its age theres a few years left in her :) and the eyetech audio mixer and pc/a4000 keyboard interface only sweeten the package. When power were strong on the Amiga stuff they were great, it seems now their aftersales support isn't as good but their online shop rulez :)
