Could it be possible to add a Morphos-section so that I can just tick it off and don't have to read about it? I understand it's hard to implement new features, but maybe within a month? It's beginning to be quite difficult to spot the real Amiga news in between all the Morphos and Pegasos chit chat.

In reply to Comment 22 (Christophe Decanini):
"I'am surprised that Sinan excluded MorphOS posts as he had good posts on LinuxPPC for example."

Well, he _is_ running Linux on his AmigaOne, and I also think he is betatesting AOS4 (allthough I really ain't 100% sure, I've been away for some time...). So I guess he has interest in those two, but not MOS. Not that he would need a reason, but I think there is one :-)

*strobe imagines the Monty Python skit in Quest for the Holy Grail: Nights of Ni, replacing the word "it" with "MorphOS"

Nooooo! He said that word again!

You people are pathetic!

With all the continuous whining and useless bitching over MOS vs AOS I agree that a MOS news and all users on ann would benefit from a extra tickmark for mos news.

At least after that the noisiest whiners couldn't make noise about having to read mos news on ann anymore. Not that it would be somehow any different at the present anyway because nothing is forcing whiners to read&take part in mos discussion against their will.

Yet a lot of them seem to do it against their constant claims of not wanting to do so.

I want a "tick box"(?!) that lets me filter out any posts with the acronym "FUD" in the body text. Or the headline.

I'm so sick of that being slung around when it's painfully obvious that few if any here know what it means.

Same discussions - over and over again. Year after year. Day by day.

I still have no Amiga OS 4. I still have no Morphos. Wake me up when it happens :)

In reply to Comment 56 (Some Farker):
Fully agreed. Some people throw in a "FUD" whenever they disagree with something.

Back to the topic; why would starting a news/story categorisation based on specific companies and/or products be a good thing? Because that's what this would be. Should every company and every product that's ever mentioned on a site like ANN get a category of its own?

Amiga, Inc.: AACE
Amiga, Inc.: DE
Amiga, Inc.: Amiga trademark licensing
Hyperion: AmigaOS
Hyperion: Games, new
Hyperion: Games, ports
Genesi: MorphOS
Genesi: Pegasos
Genesi: Pegasos II
Mai: Teron CX
Mai: Teron PX
Meyer: Amithlon
Meyer: Umilator
Dream On Studios: GameBoy games
Usergroups: SWAUG
Magazines: AmigaPLUS
Individual Computers: Catweasel Mk III

... to mention but a few examples. It'll be a ridiculous amount of categories. Or was the original poster seriously suggesting that only one company and their products should be singled out and have a category of their own? Nuts.

Goddamnit, is it only Greenboy and me who have the willpower to choose to read what we want to read? :)

In reply to Comment 45 (ONE):
>The AmigaONE is nothing more than a overpriced TeronCX/PX board with a
>rom on it which costs the users around 200 dollars each for the magic
>dongle.

Well, there are other reasons why it costs more - it has had to go through Amiga Inc's rigorous Quality Control checks, for example, which costs money. And then there is the extra work involved in manufacturing case badges and photocopying instruction sheets to ship with the boards. And there is the cost of the free OS4 to add.

See, you're not just paying for a dongle. You're paying for peace of mind.

Good Idea. Set the default to show everything though. The option to seperate areas
of non interest is a good one. Example areas Amiga, Morph OS, AmigaOne, Linux, Mac
MicroSoft. Unless ann means Amiga Network News.

Amiga related means just that it will work with or interact with an Amiga. Morph OS
crowd sounds abit like the MicroSoft crowd, extremely angry and vindictive. Many
Amiga users are getting worn out from the information and misinformation given out
by some Morph OS people. It hurts the Amiga and really hurts the Morph OS's chance
of survival. In the USA interest in the Amiga has been small but Morph OS's interest
has been non existant. Is it really worth destroying Amiga to sell max 5 systems in
the USA?
