Now it's offical, the swedsih amiga-fair AmiGBG will be held on the 29:th of march. See www.amigbg.com for more info or the full pressrelease below. AmiGBG 2003 Pressrelease

For the second year in a row, the user group AmiGBG will organize an Amiga fair at Lindholmen, Gothenburg, Sweden.

AmiGBG 2002 were the first Amiga fair in Sweden since 1998 and had over 450 visitors.

At the fair you will see both the Amiga system of tomorrow, based on G3/G4-processors, and Classic Amiga (based on 68k)

We hope to be able to present, among other things, a complete version of the new AmigaOS - OS4 - running on the new PowerPC based hardware - AmigaOne.

The fair is aimed at both Amiga enthusiasts as well as for people interested in other alternative platforms. Amongst other things, Linux will most likely be demonstrated on the new AmigaOne.

The exhibitors will be everything from abroad companies to swedish usergroups. The invitation to participate at AmiGBG 2003 has not only been sent to "pure" Amiga companies but also to other hardware manufactures.

Great!

Time to start booking train tickets, then. Let's hope there are as many people
there as last year (and that AOS4 is out, naturally).

Just as last year it will be a nice 14h trip one way! =(

But it was worth it last year, so I hope it will be worth it this year too!

Hear hear! (Although it's a short ride on my bike for me. ;))
But if there's nothing new, like AmigaOS 4, I probably won't bother. I demonstrate Linux myself every day at home. ;)

Do you have any confirmation that AOS 4.0 will actually be ready for demonstration?Or are you hoping that it will be ready, though you have noofficial confirmation that it will be there.I would hope it is being confirmed that AOS4 will be there.

Nah... a thought of a new AmigaOS release would keep me warm ... and I think that after skiing 600km till the ICE ends at the Balti Sea, I would not worry any more about the cold swimming part... or I could just hitch hike to ride on Minerva NouNou ...

Any Danes going???

If OS4 will be shown (fully working) I guess I will go there.. It's only a 2 hour drive from Helsingør.

I was in Gothenborg at the AmigaOne (and pegasos) presentation and it's a nice city with nice people (and there actually was a nightlife, something I thought the Swedes only experienced when visiting Elsinore and Copenhagen :-)

Anyway..I think I will go there again if there's _new_ stuff to be seen.

Well my "nightmare" trip there last year was 5 minutes. Breaking every trafic rule and speed-limit there was! :) My friend had just brought a new turbo car he wanted to show off! This year i think we will go at normal pace so it will take about 10 minutes. :-)

Anyway i really hope to see AmigaOS4!!
(at least on a CyberStormPPC)

SUGA will undoubtedly show up, albeit without me (crossing Siberia is a bit too much). Let's see what strange hardware and software we might bring this time.

In reply to Comment 9 (acg):
No, we don't have any confirmation that a full OS4 will be demonstrated on the show. At the time we wrote that part it felt as a realistic (with some luck) goal. Ofcourse we still hope to be able to have OS4 on the show.

But we will for sure have other cool things to show, look att www.amigbg.com for updates.

Hi Gunne Steen.

I actually met you when I visited the pegasos presentation. I think I told you we where coming from Denmark, when you came to reset the Pegasos we had just crashed ;-)

(I think we where 8-10 Danes at the A1 presentation, Gothenborg is really not that far).

Maybe we will see each other again then ! Let's see if you can make anything crash this time :-) Both Genesi and Eyetech and other exhibitors have confirmed they will attend the show.

Well, at least we have so far put Eyetech up on www.amigbg.com as an exhibitor.

Until an exhibitor is put on the website, it's not official from our side. ;-)

I hope we will have a calm and nice atmosphere at the AmiGBG 2003 fair.

Cheers

Perhaps it would be wise to separate Alan and Bill as far as possible? They don't seem to be all that fond of each other... ;-)

@ Gunne

In reply to Comment 24 (SlimJim):
We have one dealer left in Denmark (Kiwi multimedia) but they charge premium prices and only takes home what you order.

Anyway I still have to decide between the Pegasos and the A1, the Pegasos seems more and more tempting to me as it is capable of running AOS programs (in an AOS like enviroment) right now, whereas the A1 only have Linux.

I will probably give it another month and then buy a Pegasos IF there's no news about the OS4 release.
