Well, yes that is obvious now. But at the time the coupon scheme was announced things weren't so clear. They certainly couldn't pull the same trick again, that's for sure.

You might think so but conversations I have had with customers have proved otherwise which is why we ran the article. Also, I noticed the topic was raised here on ANN (see older news about $50 and T-Shirt) where they talk about law suits (which are pointless and unneccessary) as well as a few people thinking that it is now too late to do anything.

QED - hence I believe the article will be useful for those who have not already done it, should they wish to but thought they could not

They may even feel its somehow risky, or feel guilty for doing it.

Most people don't get rich by throwing money away, my brother is considerable
more wealthy than most people, and he would never throw 50 bucks away.

They made a mistake.

Pursue them for $50, and the cost of printing and mailing checks, and labour involved, and in the process, kill Amiga Inc., and we'll all live in a better world.:(

But OTOH, all that glorious interest they earned should still leave them with a hefty profit. ;)

I think amiga could be doing things the hard way, attempting to find rices for printing, packaging and mailing in different countres

Just print the things in the US, whack a low customs value on them, shove them through http://www.atspring.com and you are done.

I payed 50$ as well. And I knew that there was no guarantie to get anything back. Almost like investing in the stock market a year ago, its not worth anything today unless a miracle apears.
As for me, I still live in hope and think OS4 will happen, even if it takes "a bit longer" than announced. When it happens, for me it will be worth more than the 50$, so I dont worry so much. And if I lose the money it wont be the end of world anyway.

With the small difference that when you invest/gamble, you do it with a chance to *gain* something.

You *prepaid* for something, without a guarantee to even get what you ordered (and beyond the corporate fanclub idiocy and the promised t-shirt, you didn't even specify what you were pre-paying for).

So we should start comparing purchases (paying for goods) with wasting money on the dotcom stock market now?

And rightly so, it applies to his case. T-shirts will be out and coupons will be honored. AmigaOS4 is not ready yet in case you haven't noticed.

That's true but I think it's because those people never bought into the coupon crap in the first place and therefore never ordered it. Now they are in a "I told you so" mood and that's why a lot of them are making more noise.

For me personally the partypack offer which I aquired was enough to prove me not to trust AI's ability to handle any such thing in the future either.
So far the coupon scheme seems to be in trouble in a similar way as the partypack offer did and it's been a heck longer of the partypack than of the coupon scheme. My advice is don't hold your breath for it.

It's probably because of the neverending loyality and apologism of the remaining community why amino chose the amiga market for their playground instead of any other market. They would'nt get thru a day in the outside world if handling business the way they have handled in amiga market.
Ppl would'nt just tolerate it this long.
