A linux version would own all, yea, I can use Emacs, but I'm so damn fluent with GE6.

I was long looking for GoldEd replacements, too.

You might want to check SciTE (http://www.scintilla.org/SciTE.html), which is a decent if plain-looking editor for both Unixes and Windows (sic!). This one has a number of really nifty features, like a single-exe no-install Windows version, automatic folding marks for numerous languages, and a pretty cool syntax highlighting.

Some are considering nedit to be a fair replacement on Unixoid machines, too.

For Windows-only, UltraEdit (http://www.ultraedit.com) is a reasonable alternative.

SourceInsight is very good, too (Windows), alas quite expensive.

As always, a matter of taste. The two seem to be pretty close to each other in features. What I am missing at first glance (means, perhaps EditPlus has that feature but I didn't find it at first try) is column copy & paste, hex editing, and folding support.

Then again, it all depends on what you're doing. The features I mentioned might not matter at all for you.

Free but not freeware, and fairly ancient, pre-1998. It's still available on my web site as downloadable archive, in case anyone cares. None of this old stuff up to and including GoldED6 is upgradable anymore (my policy is to have a cheap upgrade path for six months after release of a major new version, to reward support).

It works perfectly here. It is very complete. I liked the install that I found very Professional.

For serious user, GoldED is the best choise I saw for AmigaOS.
The Apicon is great too.

The html edition/check is good. Unfortunely I have no GFX html editor to help me to get more producctivity while using GOldED. a GOod GFX html editor + GoldED will be great. Perhaps this can be done by external developpers ?

something like metalweb but much powerfull ...

Using GoldED (since v3 upto now) on AmigaOS and Emacs on Linux I found

"Zeus for Windows"

to be an excellent editor, after I tried several and found they would not really do what I wanted.

Zeus is a programmers editor, fully scriptable (Python, Lua), has configurable menus, keyboard, similar to Golded. It works also on a document-style base like Emacs and GoldEd, starts up quick, is not loaded with these horrible widgets and components, Shareware, only limit is a nag dialog at startup.

Very high quality software !!!
