Funatics Software Gmbh and e.p.i.c. interactive entertainment gmbh announced today that Cultures 2 sequel "Northland" will be ported to the Apple Mac and MorphOS. "We are very happy to be able to bring one of the most popular Godgame series to gamers on the Apple Mac and MorphOS" said Thomas Steiding, CEO of e.p.i.c. about the deal.

Thomas Friedman, CEO of Funatics added: "e.p.i.c. is the ideal partner for us to bring "Northland" to an even larger audience. Unfortunately users of systems like Macintosh or the new MorphOS are poorly supported when it comes to innovative new games. We intend to fill this gap with the release of "Northland" for these platforms.

The story of "Northland" begins where the plot of "Cultures 2 - The Gates of Asgard" ended. After perilous adventures our four heroes defeated the Midgard serpent and thus saved the world. But one day they were disturbed by a call for help from their friend Hatschi. Hatschi's homeland was plagued by mysterious monstrous serpent creatures, which spread chaos and destruction through the country. Without hesitation Byjami and Crya hurried to help him and stumbled right into a new adventure, in which the sly god Loki will play an important role...

Features Northland:

Stand-alone Adventure Strategy game.

  • Single player campaign with 8 missions including several sub missions.
  • The exciting plots tells the story of Viking God Loki who tried to take revenge on Godfather Odin for his banishment from Asgard to Earth. For that he abuses our four human heroes with his intrigues and traps.
  • 8 additional free single player missions (non campaign).
  • 3 difficulty levels to make the game fun for everybody from beginners to experts.
  • Special effects like weather effects, fog, ghost units etc.
  • Based on the enhanced technology of "Cultures 2 - The Gates of Asgard"; enhanced AI.
More information on "Northland" can be found at http://www.gmxmedia.net/northland/ or http://www.epic-interactive.com

Oh, stop it, fellas! You don't have to try to start a flamewar as soon as
possibility presents itself. What's your point(s) anyhow? You think the game will
be cancelled because you say so?

It's great that the people using MOS get lots of stuff to use it for,and games are
always nice. Good to see. Enjoy.

anyway, the answer from epic will be : those games could be ported to OS4 when it's possible; they would be too slown on classic amigas anyway...

Hum,... This is almost too many games announced... Some time ago, Hyperion also announced lots of Amiga ports.

=> Where are Majesty, Sin, RealSoft 3D ?!?

I hope these games will be released... and not in a decade... and if it's released at the same time or just after the pc version, I hope "MorphOS" will be mentionned in the pc adverts as well... This could give some interest in MorphOS...

Regards,
Leo.

I see the jealous Amiga users are back again attacking MorphOS because the hardware and software is out.

NEWSFLASH: OS4 IS NOT OUT and no developers are interested in a Teron board named AmigaONE what only runs Linux.

I hope EPIC never develops for OS4 because they are being treated like shit from the Amiga community.

Dunno about Majesty, but I understand that Sin was done quite a while ago but
ran too slow (needs an AmigaOne+OS4), and RealSoft 3D was contracted out to
someone else.

I belive it's already been stated that we will consider developing for AmigaOS 4 WHEN and only when it is available for use. It would be suicide to announce support for it until we've seen it working.

> I hope EPIC never develops for OS4 because they are being treated
> like shit from the Amiga community.

I must say, personally, I am being discouraged more and more every day especially when people write comments like "Pirate the MorphOS version, help save AMIGA" - if any heavy piracy of the MorphOS version is seen, for whatever reason, all that will happen is that we will drop MorphOS *AND* AmigaOS support, and just stick to Mac.

I bought a lot of games from epic like Earth, Simon 2, Feeble Files, Earth Mission Pack, Software Tycoon, Foundation Gold and I am still not a MorphOS User - so you think I treated epic like shit?!?!
Hmm, very strange...

Keep up the good work, Thomas, I hope there will also be versions for OS4 if it will be ready any time:-)

Just wait and see..
When (if) you announce a product for AOS 4 it will probably be the same - but from the other camp (traitors, pirate it etc.).

Just ignore the whiners and think about the big picture - even if I too know how annoying these characters get in the long run.

MorphOS is trying to kill OS4 and is winning, keep on supporting MorphOS then wave bye to Amiga as you will kill it of for good, Amiga Inc deserve a lot more respect as they have done fantastic things and are a great company who will go the extra mile to help everyone.

Save Amiga Inc now and stop supporting Genesi NOW!

Show me what they have done. They certainly have not delivered any product they have promised so far, and have shown no clear sign that they are able to either.

Genesi on the other hand, has delivered much of what it's promised it's customers. We have the hardware, and we have the OS to run on it. Amiga Inc so far have delivered a rebadged board that has flaws in the design, and no OS.

The only people that've had anything bad to say about Genesi, from what I've seen, are fanatic Amiga supporters who will spit at anything not having a Boing ball.

I want Amiga to survive but how can it when Morph0S and Genesi are soaking up the users by the droves and you people think those guys are great, they are out in battle ready to kill the AMiga fully and will continue to do so until the Amiga users UNITE and donate money to help Amiga Inc win the battle.

Ask Fleecy to set up something and let us REAL AMIGANS donate money to help Amiga Inc face the evil monsters.

Do I think MorphOS and Co are destroying the Amiga market, yes, but they have just as much right to be there as OS4 and Co. So in the same light OS4 is destroying the Amiga Market too.

I mean charging for info about the OS is madness.

What fantastic things?
Everything that`s had the Amiga name on it since the demise of Escom has just been produced by other companies (either under contract or license)
Amiga Inc`s main priority since taking the helm has been DE, and what devices can that run on??

Sorry, but my faith in Amiga Inc has just kept going down and down, now it`s at the point where I`m beginning to think that Commodore weren`t such bad owners afterall.

As for all the loonies shouting "Genesi are killing Amiga"... ask yourselves why people are buying their stuff...
How many of these guys also have PC`s?? isn`t it also true that the PC is responsible for the decline in the Amiga market?? So why is it OK for them to buy a PC, but not for others to buy a PegasOS?

I doubt if any developers are thinking strictly in terms of "either AmigaOS or MorphOS." Healthy sales of MorphOS games, if anything, will be evidense that there is potential in nonmainstream platforms in general. This will *encourage* them to seriously consider versions for AmigaOS4 when it comes out and if it looks like it's selling in good numbers. People who say supporting MorphOS is killing AmigaOS don't seem to see the bigger picture. If developers saw little interest in MorphOS, they'd probably be skeptical about AmigaOS as well. The health of one of these platforms is good for the health of the other.

When I read some comments made on this thread, namely 30 and 32, it still makes me wonder how people argue with this kind of spoofs. No one could ever support a company this way...

I know we have lot of users and from around the world, most don't have English as native language, and even the ones who have, some are biased through one or 'other' side, only hearing what they want, but saying things like this and people actually answering to them is over the tops, you should ask yourselves whose plans this kind of actions suits… I bet not Amiga Inc. It seems more likely that some people are disseminating this kind of provocations and answering them, flaming the thread even more.

The cheerleaders are always the same be it here or on AmigaWorld, wether they are from MOS, AOS or on any other camp, they don’t give me no hassle about as I tend forgot their comments the moment I read them, but the ‘I know it all and if you think different from me you must be a (BAF|BMF|BWhateverF) and stick to (x|y|z) site’ that really annoys me, if not only because the time I forgot these kind of comment anothers comes around…
