Cross-post from AmigaWorld.net:

For you who can't read Swedish, the release of AOS4 for CSPPC is drawing closer. Hyperion have found a reliable repair shop repariting broken Cyberstorms for them.

GGS-data announcement (in Swedish). Intertran (free online text/webpage translations into many languages)

Hyperion is making an offer to relay the broken boards of GGS's (and other scandinavian resellers') customers to this repair shop. This relay-offer will rotate between the various Amiga dealers of the world so as not to swamp the repair shop. First off are the Scandinavian resellers.

GGS is now asking people to send in their broken CSPPC:s to them for batch-sending to Hyperion. The price is 1250 SEK (135 euro). If the card cannot be repaired within 3 months, it will be returned by Hyperion at no cost.

If you are an interested Scandinavian (or just really, really impatient), contact GGS data at GGS contact form (Other Scandinavian resellers should have got the same offer)

Well he is right in a way:

Only a part of the possible damages on a CS-PPC can be repaired without
having access to those files, and some can only be repaired with special
and expensive machinerie.

Uhm, but noone (except the idiot behind post #199) said Hyperion are going to repair anything. They are just managing the logistics.

Corpse: You can get a BlizzPPC fan from www.farnell.co.uk cost £8.61 +Vat. order no. is 3062570

Bad news:
There is a minimum order of £10 (+vat)
The fan doesn't have a connector on - just bare wires. I moved the connector from the old one.

Good news:
The web site works properly when using Amiga web browsers.

Hi Kronos,

you are right that some things are just unfixable. BTW i'm the one who takes care of peoples board. There are some common symptons that we noticed on the different boards. 2 of them for example had the '060 working' 'ppc not working' syndrom and were succesfully repaired. Also 2 BlizzardPPC boards were fixed, one who had no RAM and SCSI cdrom.

We never say we will be able to have all boards repaired but 50% of all boards is at least better then 0 %.

If the user who has his board repaired use MOS or AmigaOS 4 doesn't really matter. The point is that it's good PR for Hyperion and the user base of potential OS4 customers rises again.

How many broken boards are out there ?

If you want a BlizzPPC fan I have an original P5 one (I removed it and replaced with a bigger 12v one...) that you can have for free (the postage £1 ?). Email me (lando@amiga.org).

I find it amusing that we are discussing this type of nonsense when the real question "why does Hyperion need to step in to organise repairs for hardware produced by other companies" goes unaddressed.

But then, the answer might not please certain parties.

Yes, Ben... Please answer that question for me. I am very curious about that.

BTW, I think it is a great idea.
