I didn't see any mention of Amiga on the Nomad site, only intent. YATAL? (Yet Another Tenuous Amiga Link)

At any rate, this is looking very good. Let's hope they can deliver on their
design goals. In that case, this might be a great boost for original games on the
Amiga. I will definately try it. ;-)

Nice! This looks very good.

I hope that someone will release "game creation kit" such as SEUCK (Shoot'Em Up Construction Kit) or 3d construction kit using this technology. It would be interesting to make your own PDA/Amiga games and this could also lead to more content for Intent.

Just my 2 cents :)

Having a bad day today huh?

The "winblows window" would be taken from intent I presume.

All I get is a blank page. Sorry for my eyes not being able to magically read something that isn't shown because their HTML is screwed (NS4.7).

Given the fact that NS7 is now available it might be worth updating your browser. The site probably doesn't work with Mosaic either so what's your point.

Anyway, the information is a bit skimpy but the idea is promising.

Cool! A game-authoring package named after ME!! :-D

(Okay, okay, I'm being silly! :-)

NoN

PS: Now, if someone would create a nice Global ThermoNuclear War ("Is this a game, or is it real?") game with this system, it WOULD kinda bring this thing closer to my name. :-D (I added the "of Norad" to my handle years ago because I was going to run a BBS with the movie "WarGames" as its motif...)

This looks really great. I will have a closer look at this.
This kind of SW SDK can be really usefull for rapid developments.

I think it's great that we finally(one day)get stuff like this on the platform.
They may very well speed up development of new titles greatly. It' something about not having to reinventthe wheel all the time. Ofcourse in the end of the day, it's not the fastnes of ddevelopment that will be key, it's what gets developed.

Where are people going to run this stuff, apart from on the SDK?

Yes, that's probably a good idea, the site looks good under Mozilla too (it should)

I'm looking forward to this too.

You do development with the SDK, use the AAPlayer to distribute apps. Note the Player isn't available seperately anymore (there's an older version on Amiga's site, but it doesn't play the new software AFAIK)

I read this as it somehow being available to AOS itself, not only AmigaDE (they do
link to AmigaOS4:s homepage after all). I have asked Nomad, but is yet to recieve

I don't think it is worth it. Not only am I happy with NS4.7 and that it works with the sites I visit regularly, but I tried NS6 and it just put me right off. So I won't be upgrading any time soon, just to be able to see stuff on a website I have little interest in. HTML is supposed to degrade nicely, so I have nothing against people using newer features that NS doesn't support. Broken HTML is different.

> The site probably doesn't work with Mosaic either so what's your point.

I had no point other than to explain why I couldn't see any Amiga link on their pages.

The Nomad Team's e-mail account was down last week but if you re-send your e-mail then I am sure they will reply. They will certainly appreciate any feedback.
