You're right! It DOESN'T say it's for OS4, only for Amiga! So it's probably only for 3.9 and below!! Damn, that would be bad for sales of OS4.. hm.. how will they rectify this one.. darn it!

Well, not that they have done even one game to move the nerdkind, good luck in Amiga business.

Yep, I hope they first finish that OS4 and don't get too much sidetracked on making Linux and Mac gameports in between. Personally, I have no hurry for OS4 anymore (as I have Mos/Pega) but there are quite many Aone owners waiting.

Hyperion are far too professional to fall into any sort of trap regarding prioritising products.

And you are right - lots of us are eagerly awaiting OS4! :)

Excellent news Hyperion - it is much appreciated.

Starting off with a bang! Racing sims are one of my favourites and that one looks great!
Only I hope it doesn't crash frequently. I don't look forward to buying games anymore on the PC because they crash so frequently.

I'll be patiently waiting for those releases on Linux or Amiga. :-)

I hope OS4 comes first though.

This is good news. I hope they will run on Pegasos+MorphOS too. If so I will definitely buy them.

Hi!

Yes, it doesn't say it would be for OS 4 in the announcement. There will definitely be a OS 4 Native version, though, even then if there would also be
an OS 3.x version.

As if there will *only* be (asides from the Mac/Linux versions) an OS 4 version, or if there will also be a
OS 3.9 version, this is not yet decided, but I'd say it is *not too unlikely*
that this will be one of the first "Amiga OS 4 only" (asides from the Mac/Linux versions of course...) titles. I cannot tell you definite right now, though,
the acquirement of the licence was just too early to give any more details
on "Midnight Racing" and other IncaGold titles than what was written in the
announcement...

Important note about "AmigaOS 4 only titles" - such titles would run BOTH on
an AmigaOne and on a AmigaClassic machine (running OS 4).

And don't worry about Hyperion being "Sidetracked". Different people work on
the OS than are working on the games...

They only mentioned a license for Amiga, Mac and Linux so I doubt you will see a MOS version.

And 600 MOS users aren't really a large customour base for a game anyway...

Well.. you tell me how many Amiga Ones there are? It's not a big number, and a lot less than Pegasos sold by this time. So if decision is made by existing user base alone it's not much of contest. (Not even mentioning lack of OS4 causing delays to games making)

How do you know? That's at least not true for for Comoputer City. At
ComputerCity there have been more Pegasos sold than AmigaOnes preordered (see
interview in the Amiga Future).

What do the invisible/ illegal coupons have to do with anything?

Amigans were encouraged to buy a coupon even if all they wanted was OS4/CSPPC. In fact plenty of people /claimed/ to have bought a coupon despite not being able to afford the computer, the OS or anything else, just to "show support" for Bill's scam.

Nice try ; } ...But ultimately, probably just not so. And as far as I have seen, Genesi is not asking developers to cordon themselves off from potentially larger sales for what has been determined would be rather trivial work. They know developers need to eat, and probably shouldn't be getting too involved in alienation tactics that might later haunt them.

And nobody even -mentioned- all the games being worked on for the -big- contract for Genesi/Plexuscom Pegasos-driven STB yet - many of those games are also slated for desktop sales.

At the time that OS4 is out there will be a lot more than 600 Amigaone's, no doubt about that. Maybe there is allready, or during the next weeks as pre-orders are delivered.

Anyway it will be interesting to see how the 2 platforms will evolve during the coming years, hopefully succesfully for both.

Agree.. And by the time OS4 gets to AmigaOnes, Pegasos 2 has been on sales and deliveries on long time. So it'll be totally different picture than today. :)

But in the end it's good to see this movement going on. New games and applications are coming to these systems. More people will have to chance to select some alternative to this nowdays upholding m$ monopoly (Imho, Linux ain't personal OS.. not at least for me).

Hi, no that is a different Lando. And I'm not the Lando.co.uk Lando either, so please don't ask about my stinking hole (when people did this on IRC I thought they were just being offensive). There were no other Lando's when I took this nick back in 92 but now they seem to be everywhere!
